Saving money is a skill. So is spending it. Frugality is held up as a virtue. Sometimes it is. Sometimes it’s just cheapness in disguise. There’s a difference between being disciplined with money and being afraid to use it well. Trust yourself to save wisely. You should also trust yourself to spend wisely. Especially in business. The right expertise is rarely cheap. Smart spending is about making better decisions for the long term rather than showing off. It could mean: -hiring an expert to shorten your learning curve -paying for better systems -improving customer experience -investing in quality instead of choosing the cheapest option When I hit a serious bottleneck in my career, I’d rather pay someone who already knows the path than waste months trying to “save money” while burning time. The people who win over the long term understand this. Saving money matters. But spending it well matters too. Invest in the long term. Pay for value. Don’t confuse hesitation with discipline.

You can’t automate what you don’t understand. AI won’t save bad writing. Outsourcing won’t fix work you can’t evaluate. I learned this leading warehouse teams ranging from 7 to 150+ people: The reason I could coach well, spot problems fast, and recognize top performers was simple: I’ve done the work myself. Same rule in business: Before you delegate a role, do it. Before you outsource a task, learn it. Before you build a system, understand what “good” looks like. Master it first. Then hire someone better than you.

Write by hand- it’s great for the brain! Keep a notebook and record your thoughts, write your rough drafts, draw.
