Do you think you've had long-term GI problems since having Covid? We are performing a study examining the characteristics of viruses, specifically persistent SARS-CoV-2 infections, in stool samples. 1/3

@erinjeffries45 One thing I noticed that also happened with COVID is I had a clearly elevated resting heart rate.

@SolidEvidence I had something horrible. Knocked me out the first week of February. Almost reminded me of covid because I slept for almost 3 days strait.

If you had a nasty cold recently, it's probably HKU1 or 229E (two of the other human coronaviruses). Both have been surging in wastewater all over the place. Pretty sure that's what I had.

@SolidEvidence Could of been covid too, it’s around all year long and one of the most contagious. Wont know until you test.

We added St Louis to our dashboards this week. The St Louis zoo clearly has Hippos. 1/

New cryptic from Little Rock, Arkansas this week. Not enough info to make the big board yet, but it's clearly an XBB.1.5 derivative (over 2 year infection) that has started picking up new mutations.

@Morthan91 This is a pre B.1.1 though. It doesn't have the two mutations in N that define B.1.1

@SolidEvidence B.1.... and what more? Omicron is a B.1 lineage too. B.1.1.529, in case anyone forgot in theendless hurricane of names since 2022.

The most prominent cryptic lineage in the world right now is from Lincoln, Nebraska. It's a B.1 infection (about 5 years old) that has been detected in their wastewater every week for about the last 18 months. Sooo.... 1/

@JoeyOtweets @SolidEvidence Suppose it's an IBD patient who uses immune suppressants. They + their doctors might think that the Crohn's or UC is causing any GI symptoms. Maybe they've tried changing meds, hitting it with steroids, etc and just assume it's a bad flare. Tho I guess they could be asymptomatic.

The Nebraska cryptic lineage appeared again this week. It really puts BA.3.2.2 in perspective.

@SolidEvidence Could this be multiple people? Or maybe an animal source (e.g. deer) getting mixed in with WW through combined sewer overflows? It's evolutionary distance from WT could be because it's adapted for another organism, no?

@SolidEvidence Are they trying to find the person? My city does samples wastewater and they can zero it down to the subdivision.
