Alex Cora says that Roman Anthony isn’t in the lineup because they have to “maximize the roster” and also Yoshida is putting good at bats plus Duran has to get some playing time. This is the type of OF/DH rotation that they will have during the season.

The biggest exception to “spring training doesn’t matter” is when an established player does something you’ve literally never seen them do before. I’ve never seen Rafaela go deep to straightaway center. Certainly not on a fairly well executed changeup like this

@romanis_emperor @MayerIsKing Tolle yes cause he actually needs to develop more. Early’s arsenal and pitchability are already league ready. The only thing Early needs to do is gain some more velocity and that more so an offseason thing so he should defintly be in the rotation

@MayerIsKing I’d like him and Tolle to start in triple A I think it would help there development more because they would probally get more innings

Connelly Early is gonna make Alex Cora’s 5th starter decision very easy. Early was great yesterday and his fastball topped out at 96, which is great for him this time of year. His off speed pitches have always been great, and if he keeps it up, he should EASILY win the job

Realistically, I would put him at third base or even shortstop, but I understand why they’re doing this. At second base, it’s easiest to platoon him with Romy Gonzalez or whoever it is to begin the year. The fact of the matter is Marcelo Mayer shouldn’t be facing lefties at all, especially if you still have concerns about this lineup heading into Opening Day.
