@NeilGarratt No knowledge of this case, but I believe there are regulatory reasons why banks can, and do, close accounts without warning or explanation (e.g. risk of money laundering or of potential criminal links, risk of being targeted by fraudsters, etc.)

That's not a new instinct, it might be the norm around the world and across history. Stamping out heresies. Stamping out the blasphemers. The New Religion, the Woke: as certain of their beliefs as any who went before, and just as determined to stamp out dissenters.

So @TideBusiness just randomly close people's bank accounts and refuse to explain. I'm going to assume the reason they can't explain is because, if they did, they'd be admitting to unlawful direct discrimination on grounds of religion or belief. Like The Stand.

@BBCBreakfast I honestly don't think these are too hard (need to test a range of abilities). I think the problem is that kids are forced through graded reading schemes with mindnumbingly dull books that take the joy, interest and thought out of reading.
