I have watched these high school and college kids do their thing. I have talked with some of them. I have seen their work. Traditional media needs to come to grips with reality. They're not going away. You either hire them or you're going to have to compete with them.

Such a waste of space when there are so many energetic and talented content creators out there who can further promote March Madness. We're not living in 1990 anymore. Feel free to be flexible.

If traditional media circa 2026 chooses to not send a photographer or videographer as a cost-cutting measure, why deny someone else ... especially those willing to foot their own bill?

Sad & disappointing to see the number of empty photo boxes on the March Madness baselines - for both MBB & WBB. Space that could go to more School & Conference Creatives to showcase & further showcase the moment. Especially from a cinematic video perspective.

I hate to break it to those who are still going to miserably pooh-pooh the Miami story after what happened today. That program won't be going away. Their March stories will continue. Sorry.

You have no idea how hard student reporters work for next to nothing or absolutely nothing. Whether they're writing, broadcasting, shooting photos or video or making graphics, it's a joy to watch. Shout out to VCU's Phil Martelli Jr. for recognizing them.

When you've spent over 40 years broadcasting Nebraska basketball and finally see an NCAA Tournament win. Cheers to you @KentPavelka.
