True gender equality depends not only on a woman’s ability to access a livelihood, but also on her ability to control it.

Choice = When a woman has economic power, she has agency over decisions like how she earns and manages her income. Or like @aphroDIJA put it, she has control:

Are women only beneficiaries of government economic policies? Or do they get to participate in designing those policies?

When a woman secures a job, can she thrive? Or will discrimination in the workplace or the disproportionate load of household work she carries mean she is set up to fail?
