UN peacekeepers in Lebanon are finding their job increasingly obstructed. In the past two weeks, they’ve come under several attacks; three have been killed, others injured and threatened..in the latest incident, an Israeli soldier inside Lebanese territory detained a peacekeeper - this despite their ‘protected status’. Earlier this evening, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) detained a UNIFIL peacekeeper after blocking a logistics convoy. Following direct and immediate contacts by UNIFIL's Head of Mission & Force Commander and our Liaison Branch, the peacekeeper was released in less than an hour.

This is my city, Beit Hanoun.
It was once known as the “Green City” for its abundance of olive and orange trees. It produced and exported oranges and olives to the entire world.
