On the night of March 13, 1997, thousands of Arizonans looked up and saw something they couldn’t explain—a massive, V-shaped formation of lights hovering in the sky. Nearly three decades later, the Phoenix Lights remain one of the most infamous UFO sightings in U.S. history, fueling speculation, debate, and ongoing scientific curiosity.

A 7 figure business teaching 7 year olds how to operate backhoes: - 45,000 customers served per year - $25 per 2 hours, whether you operate or not - On ONLY a 3.5 acre lot in a mall parking lot - 30 pieces of equipment, bought new from Caterpillar - Had to close down on opening day due to overwhelming demand & things breaking Imagine grossing 7 figures doing something as fun as this? To keep the theme of a job site (and keep costs low) their gift shop is in a literal job site trailer. Their unexpected hidden cash cow? Insurance costs? So many nuggets of learning packed into this 47 minute chat! You'll have to watch/listen to my interview with Jacob Robinson, the founder, at the links in the 1st comment below to find out. Enjoy! This was a ton of fun. You'll love it.

HISTORY MADE! FROM SS FB: Sunnyside District is proud to celebrate one of our own, Audrey Jimenez, for capturing her first collegiate national championship! After an unforgettable HS career at Sunnyside High School, where Audrey dominated the mat and won four state championships with the Blue Devils, she has now taken her talents to the national stage. Competing for Lehigh University, the sophomore standout went 23–0 in her first full season and entered the tournament as the No. 1 seed at 110 pounds. Audrey secured the title with an impressive pin in just 1:10 over Sage Mortimer in the championship match at the NCAA NC Women’s Wrestling Championships.

i'm a big fan of the "gps theory" when you miss a turn, your gps doesn't judge you, it recalculates. no matter how many detours you take, it finds another way forward. life works like that too. you'll make mistakes, but your destination doesn't vanish. the route just changes.

Eat at a local restaurant tonight. Get the cream sauce. Have a cold pint at 4 o’clock in a mostly empty bar. Go somewhere you’ve never been. Listen to someone you think may have nothing in common with you. Order the steak rare. Eat an oyster. Have a negroni. Have two. Be open to a world where you may not understand or agree with the person next to you, but have a drink with them anyways. Eat slowly. Tip your server. Check in on your friends. Check in on yourself. Enjoy the ride. Anthony Bourdain

If you've had a salad this winter, chances are it was thanks to the farmworkers who wake up at 2 a.m. to pick lettuce by hand in Yuma. This morning, I met these workers and joined them in the fields to hear directly from those men and women who work hard to feed their families and ours.

It’s important that you understand what happened last night. Last night, Stephen Colbert interviewed Democratic Texas Senate candidate James Talarico, a candidate who, by all accounts, is on track in the polls to flip Texas blue. In response, Trump’s FCC reportedly threatened CBS if the interview aired. CBS caved and pulled the segment, citing “financial reasons.” In modern American history, no president has been more hostile to free speech than Donald Trump. But censorship always backfires. Here’s the full segment Trump didn’t want you to see.

The forgotten Olympic event where skiing resembled dance more than anything.. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, ski ballet—also called acroski—claimed a distinctive niche within freestyle skiing, alongside moguls and aerials. Rather than chasing speed or massive airtime, skiers emphasized choreography, balance, and expression, gliding down mild slopes to music. It felt like figure skating on snow, as athletes blended spins, modest jumps, precise footwork, and controlled edging into tightly timed routines. Judges evaluated technical skill, musicality, creativity, and the seamless flow between movements. The sport reached its widest audience at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, where it was featured as a demonstration event, highlighting its popularity and visual flair. As freestyle skiing evolved toward bigger tricks, faster runs, and more broadcast-friendly spectacle, ski ballet gradually disappeared from elite competition. What remains is a captivating moment in winter sports history—an era when skiing celebrated elegance and creativity as much as adrenaline, transforming the slope into a performance stage.

Eugene Edgerson posted this public message on Facebook about his son's Senior Day at Salpointe. Wouldn't expect anything different from Gene. This kind of character goes back to the days I called him over the phone about his recruitment by Arizona when he attended St. Augustine High School in New Orleans. You could tell then he was raised right. This comment by Gene should be shared to every single parent who has a young athlete as a son or daughter: "It’s senior night and Jazi didn’t get to play. I never once walked up to my son’s high school basketball coach about playing time. Not once. See, that wasn’t my lane. My job was to raise a young man. Coach’s job was to run a team. If my son wanted more minutes, I told him what was told to me: ‘Work so hard they can’t sit you.’ I wasn’t about to teach him that when life feels unfair, you go over somebody’s head. Nah. Life don’t work like that. The world ain’t handing out minutes — you earn them. I sat in them bleachers quiet. Clapped when he did well. Drove him home when he didn’t play. And in that car, I’d say — ‘You control effort. You control attitude. Everything else? That’s grown man business.’ Too many dads fighting battles their sons need to fight themselves. Basketball ain’t just about buckets. It’s about learning how to handle disappointment without folding. I didn’t need my son to be the star. I needed him to be solid. Because one day it won’t be about minutes… It’ll be about marriage, jobs, pressure, and real-life fourth quarters. And I refuse to raise a young man who thinks somebody owes him playing time. #basketball #basketballdad #hooplife #highschoolbasketball #earnednotgiven"

BREAKING: A letter from Alex Pretti’s Final Nursing Student: “I was Alex Pretti’s final nursing student. He was my friend and my nursing mentor. For the past four months, I stood shoulder to shoulder with him during my capstone preceptorship at the Minneapolis VA Hospital. There he trained me to care for the sickest of the sick as an ICU nurse. He taught me how to care for arterial and central lines, the intricacies of managing multiple IVs filled with lifesaving solutions, and how to watch over every heartbeat, every breath, and every flicker of life, ready to act the moment they wavered. Techniques intended to heal. Alex carried patience, compassion and calm as a steady light within him. Even at the very end, that light was there. I recognized his familiar stillness and signature calm composure shining through during those unbearable final moments captured on camera. It does not surprise me that his final words were, “Are you okay?” Caring for people was at the core of who he was. He was incapable of causing harm. He lived a life of healing, and he lived it well. Alex believed strongly in the Second Amendment and in the rights rooted in our Constitution and its amendments. He spoke out for justice and peace whenever he could, not only out of obligation, but out of a belief that we are more connected than divided, and that communication would bring us together. I want his family to know his legacy lives on. I am a better nurse because of the wisdom and skills he instilled in me. I carry his light with me into every room, letting it guide and steady my hands as I heal and care for those in need. Please honor my friend by standing up for peace, preferably with a cup of black coffee in hand and a couple of pieces of candy in your pocket, just as he would. He would remind you that caring for others is hard work, and we must do whatever it takes to get through the long shifts. Step outside with your dog, breathe in the world, hike or bike as he loved to do, and let yourself find peace in the quiet moments within nature. Stand up for justice and speak with those whose views differ from your own. Hold your beliefs with strength, but always extend love outward, even in the face of adversity. Take one step, no matter how small, to help heal our world. Through these acts, carry his light forward in his name. Let his legacy continue to heal.”
