Attention: Slogan Ideas For Taking Over a New Job: Ok let us hear those great ideas I will start! You are taking over a program that hasn't won many games: "We do not JUST LOSE, WE LOSE BIG" 😂😂😂 Hey it is cultural builder think about it! You can build an entire culture around this with Shirts-chants etc. Come on now what you got! and remember that is now copyrighted you need my permission to use it🤣🤣🤣

Claim Your Transfers UNTIL they graduate: Are you losing players to transfer portal??!! I have your solution!!!! CLAIM THESE KIDS AS YOUR OWN!! If a player has spent one or more years in your program and transfers to another program claim them on your resume! Lets say a kid is a D1 athlete but leaves to say a destination school hey thats ok but mark that kid as one of your athletes who reached to the next level. So IF a player leaves you should take credit for time served to them especially if you have had a kid for 2, or sadly 3 years already gonna sign to play college ball that is your blood and sweat developing them so you count them like you would if a kid stayed and went on to the next level. This is NOT a joke either! And I would be vocal about it-if they have a signing day SHOW UP take pics with them! IF they refuse it is ok photoshop them in hahahaha. Heck tell ur new players "see that kid we got him to the D1 level he was so dam good they recruited him out of my program! This also can happen to you! I think you get my point! Treat it like a tax return treats a dependent-if it is good enuf for the Govt it is good enuf for a coach who has put time into a kid and loses them to transfer portal!

New Hires: No matter what sport I just love when a coach takes over and they now have their new slogan for their team-take Tombstone they are the "SWARM" you get it Yellowjackets Swarm hahaha and then when they go in practice everything u now say is SWARM SWARM and all of the great culture cliches you can use to build your program-funny thing is as much as I see new hires many many slogans are taken from other schools (usually not from AZ) but other programs-

@plewisbaseball I’m sorry but the pitching coach you should run from is one that tells you to swing at any strike - 0-0 - you swing at your pitch not any pitch.

If you have a hitting coach who tells you to “take a strike” RUN (unless it’s late and down several runs…..even then I hate it). As a pitcher, the goal is to get one of the first two over for a strike. Why be passive early? It’s a terrible approach IMO. 0-1 is not an advantage as a hitter. Hitting is hard enough with 3 strikes. Why give one away?
