They should. Fan demand for it, data support for it, and brand damage justifies return to exclusivity (in at least some capacity). Have a competitive spine and go for it. Better to go out trying rather than be a marshmallow.

Chris Dring reports Circana's Q1 2026 consumer survey found the number one reason people buy consoles is for EXCLUSIVES. The importance of quality exclusives to sell systems is something I've discussed many times and that data has always corroborated, contrary to the false narratives of so many ignorant fans. Many gaming consumers may spend more time playing multiplatform live service games, but exclusives are the primary differentiator for choosing one platform over another, to play those MP games. Not the brand, hardware perfomance, price, or digital library, but EXCLUSIVES. @TrulyMade That’s only a new phenomenon. Them having consistent games. This was the major problem for them at the beginning of the gen. They are repackaging 2 to old games this year! Gears reloaded and halo. Ps5 and pc have huge back catalogues too. Hopefully there game quality goes up.

@chikocash I hear you and to combat that, it is important to inform them about buying into Sony’s prison system. If they say that they can buy Xbox games on PlayStation, we say “but you don’t get to own their games.” Especially when there’s no physical copy available on release.
