@_we_love_food I used to say McD because 5Guys is $20 per person now and because their burgers taste like I coulda made them at home… And then it hit me. Five guys uses peanut oil so there’s less oxidizing crap inflaming the body. Now I only fast food 2-4 times/mo so 5Guys isn’t too pricy

@mattvanswol I successfully stopped shopping at Walmart (& even Target to an extent) because of this garbage. At least Best Buy lets me continue the illusion of the old world - games are still in security cases, but individual ones I can bring to the checkout without waiting for an associate.

For reference… Here is my Walmart in Western North Carolina. Every month something new is locked behind glass, even $5 headphones are now locked up. It’s barely worth shopping in person anymore. It sucks, and I am sad my kids will never know what it was once like.

The most radicalizing content on the internet is old footage of Americans shopping in stores 25 years ago. It's calm, quiet, civil, no fighting, no screaming, no phones, it's not overly crowded. You can't quite describe it, but you miss it so deeply.
