Ironically, Clarence Thomas met his wife Ginni in 1986 at an affirmative action conference, which they both opposed. They bonded over making sure the playing field was never level for blacks and a year later in 1987 they married. What's so perplexing about Clarence Thomas is that he benefited from affirmative action during his admission to Yale Law School in 1971. Yale aimed to increase minority enrollment to roughly 10% of the class. He later decided that wasn't a good thing. Clarence Thomas benefited from affirmative action. Then he decided, no other black person should. Self-hatred is a helluva drug.
