In the books, they have a whole pen for themselves, but due to the big one killing off most of them except for two, they got put into solitary confinement.

@omegafreelancer Maybe the whole raptor fiasco would not happened if the enclosure was big enough and with entertainments (seriously, even for a single lion, this enclosure was ridiculously small)

People always forget this part, but there’s an implicit implication Jurassic Park would have failed even if it opened. Notice how the only dinosaur they see on the car tour (before things go wrong) was a triceratops dying because it couldn’t digest modern plants?
