@AinaAluAran @LandsknechtPike I've read from several sources that Raimondo Montecuccoli, the famous Hapsburg commander thought that Turkish bows were as effective as firearms. Unfortunately I haven't seen the original quote, so I don't know what was the context or caveats he might've included.

Imperial light cavalry in the Long Turkish War (1593-1606). It's interesting how at the time European military tactics were already surpassing the Ottomans, particularly due to greater use of firearms and employing harquebusiers who used disciplined fire against Ottoman troops.
