Happy to hear about @DrJFLJackson's award. His wise counsel helped me muster the courage to apply to @UWMadEducation ELPA PhD program. So much timely wisdom re: life and career shared in brief moments that made a lifelong impact. Doubt I'd be where I am without him. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

@THEEDoctaJ What about researching a myth/truth of higher ed related to access, retention, completion on the student or employee side? I.e. who education was really for historically, meritocracy (or lack thereof), governance, etc.

@ValynciaColette @Fharris3 @DrLukeWood I need to look into this activity. I also want to use this with POC educators as we experience the world differently and need to be able to humble ourselves to work with students.

This isn't necessarily for me but I thought about it as you all were presenting, what are some resources for our STEM colleagues in facilitating culturally relevant teaching? @Fharris3 @DrLukeWood #EquityOnline

@pgorski Omg, this is speaking to me right now! I was trying to put into words this very concept. It is my response to some comments that criticized Toni Morrisons call out of Jana Wendt in the Uncensored video that is has been resurrected/circulating. Have you seen it?

Nothing more hypocritical & oppressive than people who take or endorse uncivil (racist, heterosexist, etc.) action demanding "civil discourse" in the face of their oppressiveness, as though directly confronting their incivility isn't the most civil thing we can do.

@robert_finnerty I didn't pick up the vitriol, only resistance to an unfair question. Please help me understand your point. What do you find problematic with Toni's response?

@EspeInAZ What's been the response to this? I'm thinking the same thing. People are afraid of POCs with guns in a different way than non-POCs, right? What's that about?

Does anyone know of something similar to @EmmaWatson's workplace harassment hotline in the U.S.? Asking for a friend? One would think @USEEOC would have already thought of this.

I didn't have the language to make sense of mt experience until I started my grad program in Higher Ed. So the sense I made of it over time has changed.
