Communities In Schools WV has expanded to all 55 counties, creating a statewide network of support for students. CIS Alum Will Meadows represented the organization at the State of the State. He turned his passion for photography into a possible future career! Keep it up, Will!

As the year ends, I want to highlight the impactful work of Communities In Schools WV, which empowers students with support and mentorship, and the Friends With Paws program, spreading joy through pet therapy. In 2024, let's continue carrying this spirit of kindness forward!

I would like to extend gratitude to Walmart store managers in various counties, who chose to buy Christmas gifts for CIS students. Special thanks to Chris Rockenstein, Walmart Market Manager, and CISWV Advisory Council member for leading this meaningful project!

Did you know? The Governor’s Mansion Reception Hall boasts two Georgian mahogany staircases with crystal ball finials, black Belgium and white Tennessee marble tiles, empire sofas, and eagle console tables. The hall also currently features a 15-foot Christmas tree!

Wow! You all have been buying up this year’s ornaments quickly! I am so happy you love them just as much as I do. We only have about 60 ornaments left so call to purchase before it’s too late!

I am so happy that Meadow is finally in her new home! Washington Lands Elementary School had our final Pup Rally of the 2023 season and introduced Meadow to the staff and students. I cannot wait to hear the amazing feedback from everyone at the school.

Last week we placed our 18th therapy dog, Nutter, at Ravenswood High School! Nutter is a Chocolate Labrador, and he is so excited to meet each and every student. I hope he brings everyone comfort, joy, and support throughout the school year. Learn more 🐶 ciswv.org
