@philmcnulty Madrid win and football has become a bore. Attracting players from South America - tiresome and predictable- not evidence of greatness

@TavernFootball We were in the process of moving back up north and staying with my aunty and uncle in Manchester. When Rush gave Liverpool the lead I went to look at houses with my mum, expecting them to win easily. We got back for United v Oldham to my dad ecstatic they’d lost 4-3

@RorySmith Agree with all points made, thanks for raising it Rory. It's not about just watching more football(though I could do a game!) it's about an opportunity to show respect. It's tedious for me and I'm sitting on a beach in Portugal!

I am totally bewildered @metoffice. Why is it a mark of respect to give us the weather forecast for today, but not tomorrow? Or to put it another way, why is it disrespectful to give us tomorrow’s weather?

Can vaguely see why they've called off professional games, even if there is a bit of an inconsistency in the fact that basically everything else - the shops, the pubs, the ice hockey - is still open. But cancelling kids' football is downright absurd.

Not sure there is an articulate or pithy way to say this, but: cricket and rugby won’t be criticised by the Mail and the Telegraph for deciding to go ahead. Football would have been. And that’s probably relevant.
