I started when I was 3 years old. I walked 14 miles to Gary Gygax's house and stood on his porch for 2 days with no food or water. Gary or Dave Arneson would occasionally come out on the porch and tell me I was too young or too short and to go home, but eventually they saw I was serious and let me in to play. We never played the way it was written in the books, those were just a ruse to trick the masses. We actually played FATE CORE, which Dave picked up from GenCon 2004 when he had brief access to a time portal.
