Some of my Catholic & Orthodox might disagree with me (that’s ok- I still love ya) but biblically speaking a #Saint is simply a word for anyone who is a genuine Christian.
It’s not just special canonised people. It’s ordinary Christians too. ‘Saint’ derives from Sanctus which means ‘set apart’
Julia Hartley-Brewer@JuliaHB1
Small point, worth making, but there's actually no such thing as a saint. It's just made-up religious gobbledegook nonsense. You're welcome. 🏴
English

@JuliaHB1 According to the Bible, a ‘saint’ is basically anyone who is a genuine Christian. You don’t have to be canonised. It derives from the word Sanctified, meaning to ‘set apart’.

Great video by @ProudofusUK explaining the history of #StGeorge, who is the saint of many countries & regions including #England, #Ethiopia, #Georgia, #Genoa & #Catalonia. 🏴

@Keir_Starmer Thank you Prime Minister.
The original #StGeorge was a man of exceptional courage & conviction. It’s no surprise he became a symbol for hope for so many. #StGeorgesDay

@Franklin_Graham @realDonaldTrump I love reading the Bible, but I’m not as keen as performative religion for political ends.
Salvation doesn’t come from simply reading the Bible. It comes from doing what it says. Which is to repent.

Grateful for a president who is unashamed to read the Bible from the Oval Office! President @realDonaldTrump read this important passage last night for @AmericaRTBible. I’ll be joining this great event to read Luke 10—which includes the parable of the Good Samaritan—on Friday!

President Trump read 2 Chronicles 7:11–22 during "America Reads the Bible," joining nearly 500 leaders in a weeklong event honoring America’s 250th anniversary.

@ThePosieParker I agree when it comes to roles where the worker needs to be female. Like DV shelter etc…
But I don’t agree with refusing to employ someone to stack shelves at Tescos or mow the park lawn.

Happy 21st Birthday to #YouTube.
There are some incredible #HISTORY YouTube channels on there who pretend well researched history in a way that engages their audience.
Many of these channels have helped & inspired me to write my books. #YouTube21

@calvinrobinson For example; a Mormon saying they believe the racist things their prophet said about black people, shouldn’t be used to label all Christians as racist. Especially given that Mormons are distinct from Christians.

@calvinrobinson Note; I don’t agree with Kellie-Jays statement here. I too find it an offensive generalisation. But an individual making a silly statement doesn’t prove something about an entire movement that the person doesn’t even claim to be part of.

Feminism always leads to the hatred of men.
It is a movement rooted in misandry.

I don’t trust men around small children. I mean, all men, unless I have reason *to* trust them. Harsh, but fair.

Parts of @KingdomOfHerod take place in #Rome. The novels author visited Rome for the second time last year in order to get inspiration.
