Leonsis, Washington Wizards General Manager Tommy Sheppard and Head Coach Wes Unseld, Jr., a graduate of the school, were joined by Connie and Kim Unseld as well as local dignitaries for the unveiling.

A transformed parent lounge/meeting area and a refreshed basketball courtyard, as well as updated school signage were also part of the renovations.

Renovations took place across the campus included an outdoor space where students can play and participate in after-school activities. The new space now includes additional seating, asphalt murals, learning gardens, and eco-friendly equipment for students and families to enjoy.

Throughout the day, volunteers helped with final touches in the courtyard and inside the school while students in attendance took part in a basketball clinic led by the Wizards on the newly renovated basketball courts.

The project is part of the NBA 75th Live, Learn or Play initiative that celebrates the league’s historic milestone season while continuing the league’s legacy of supporting and uniting communities globally through the game of basketball.
