@carolinerenard_ The most annoying!!! And I agree, I wish she had more to play than shame and unfortunately that’s what her life taught her. I also think if she had been a white woman (or a less compelling actor) we’d not worry about that as much because the movie is about those big feelings.

@WritingTheWrong I got it, I wanted more of her and her POV cause feels like she got left to the side while all these white people got to have all their big feelings and judge her. They were so annoying.

@carolinerenard_ I think I made that leap because she was in a very white ass school and her parents were very clearly never around! And I think that the movie makes it clear that these white people’s reactions are absurd and for that reason I’m always gon read it as an indictment of whiteness

@WritingTheWrong For me it’s not even “a Black woman would never do this,” it’s a okay you’re saying she almost did & now I’m intrigued how she got there cause statistically we don’t so can we explore that a bit. And it wasn’t. And yes we would’ve handled it differently, another bit not explored.
