Good times in the North over the last two weeks. Got the Klinse-Za maternal pen loaded up thanks to an A-list team of vets, pilots, biologists, and Guardians. Herd is nearing 160 animals, up from 38 in 2013.

The Yukon Fish and Wildlife Enhancement Trust recently announced its annual call for proposals for 2024-2025. You can request up to $15,000. Proposals must be submitted by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2024. Learn more on their website: yfwet.ca.

@grizzlygirl87 Looks like a slightly underweight juvenile grizzly sow. The shoulder hump is evident and we can't see the ears well. The facial profile is fairly straight, making it a bit tricky. Could be a black bear... But going off the hump and rump – young grizzly bear sow – final answer!

ATT'N SHEEP HUNTERS: We want to remind hunters that there are concerns about Dall's sheep populations in some parts of the territory. Kluane is an area of known concern, and @KFNGovernment is asking all harvesters to restrict sheep harvest in parts of their Traditional Territory.

ATT'N SHEEP HUNTERS: The last few winters and springs have been tough on Dall's sheep. We're encouraging sheep hunters everywhere to try harvesting the oldest ram they can. Hunt for the future and help conserve our wild sheep populations. If you aren't sure –– don't shoot!
