@FAKKU @largehotcoffee Hey guys, as a fellow porn site owner (ZENRA), you should consider throwing support behind @fscarmy. CBLDF is not your friend. Seeing FAKKU as not first a porn site is partially why you are experiencing these things. I can give some suggestions. Feel free to reach out.

Also any porn site (yes, Fakku is a porn site, not an anime site) that only takes CC and only from one billeris shooting themselves in the foot. Look at payment options for most any other porn site and there's more checkout options than what a street vendor in Phuket accepts.

"They can take crypto!" They could and if in a fantasy world where many users actually use it, the issues that card billers enforce will crop up again somewhere along the fiat <-> crypto chain.

@tanuki42_ @SttyK It gets worse (per the ID card). 1. Street addresses appear at the END of the address, not the beginning. 2. "Taro" not only being a super common name seems to be his ONLY name on the card. This is the Japanese version of a "McLovin" ID.

9/12 He was then asked to present a form of photo ID. Although the ID immediately looked like a fake print-out to me, I have since consulted with my Japanese ID expert @SttyK who pointed out three clear signs this ID is definitely fake🚩 1. Japanese My Number ID cards have rounded edges, Taro’s has sharp corners. 2. The box on the right-hand side is meant to be empty, Taro’s has his name (in Japanese characters) in this box. 3. The address listed shows a postal code for Meguro (153-0063) but the street address ends 8-11-6. We could find no street ending 8-11-6 in Meguro.

1/12 Lots of people asking if I make every Asian male I interview insult Kim Jong Un - for the avoidance of doubt, I only ask someone to insult Marshal Kim when I'm already confident they're North Korean and trying to defraud. But how did I know Taro was North Korean? 🧵

@GarzotaBTC @HollogramTV Totally sorry about missing your replies. CF can do 2 things right away to clear their name: 1. Require thorough KYB for any large spenders. 2. Maintain a blacklist of "DMCA Ignore" hosts and abide by it. (3 bonus): Admit they just want to make money any way possible.

You know when JAV piracy has reached rock bottom (or top?) when you get a polite email from a pirate site asking to be reviewed in your blog. I will review them here: pointless 'free' streaming site of nothing but stolen content. Can shut down tomorrow and nobody will care.

@GustavoTurnerX I wrote a 12K word review of it (heavily cited). If you want it, send me a DM. On my semi-personal blog so I rather not link here. Either way, definitely read it. You won't be let down.

I want someone to love me as much as supposedly "progressive" Anglo-American newspaper The Guardian loves to dig up academic-adjacent, pro-censorship cheerleader Gail Dines every. single. time they have to cover anything remotely related to porn: theguardian.com/news/ng-intera…

@GustavoTurnerX Have you ever read "Perversion for Profit: The Politics of Pornography and the Rise of the New Right" by Whitney Strub? I read it last year; one of the most eye-opening books I ever happened upon. Absolutely destroys every anti-porn argument with heaps upon heaps of facts.

There's now SEVERAL GENERATIONS of pornography studies and non-stigmatizing sex work scholars IN GOOD ACADEMIC STANDING that The Guardian's journalists could contact to offer context about porn and sex work. Instead, they always resuscitate The Wicked Witch of the SWERF.

@Cloudflare In front of most every pirate site is your service. You obviously are not performing any KYB and are happy to send traffic to webhosts that do not honor DMCAs. Please don't play the victim. CF offers great services, but also happily works with pirate sites. Choose a side.

Italy’s "Piracy Shield" forces providers to block content in under 30 minutes without judicial oversight, which leads to overblocking (taking down legitimate websites alongside infringing ones). We're appealing a €14M fine to protect the Internet from automated censorship and ensure infrastructure providers aren't forced to overblock. cfl.re/4cMh0WA

@SharaHeart6 @Real_Kilometers The legal supporter that also sometimes pirates most likely makes up a smidgen of actual pirate site users. You're giving back, you're cool.

@Real_Kilometers As someone who used HiAnime, I also have a Crunchyroll subscription and Netflix, and Prime Video, what I preferred was an easy way to watch and catalogue everything in one place, a good interface and episode management system but mainly the ability to watch older anime.

Miles | Anime by the Numbers@Real_Kilometers·
HiAnime is dead, so here's a few important pieces of context to remember: 1. It was the biggest bootleg anime platform in the States, accounting for ~15% of all anime piracy with ~4M US monthly users per White Box analysis. 2. It was a for-profit outlet. That was its purpose. It made the people running it a *lot* of money. It was not helpful for media preservation. 3. Many cite accessing unlicensed/unavailable anime as a key benefit, but that represented less than 1% of US viewership per White Box. The most popular titles on HiAnime were broadly the most broadly available. 4. That said, a slight majority of people who used HiAnime also used legit outlets for anime as well, which showed that many people used it to "fill gaps" or because they didn't know where to watch a certain series. 5. Most of the subtitles (90%+) were not "fansubs" but rips of the official subtitles. When it was a fansub, they were ripped from the fansub group and monetized, which isn't really any better IMO. 6. The hydra head is real, and there are plenty of other outlets for piracy. That said, whenever the top pirate site goes down, some % switch to legal services, which goes back to fund the industry. Most anime revenue comes from overseas these days, and streaming revenue is the biggest driver of overseas revenue. Every view counts! 7. No one is "wrong" or bad or anything for having used these kinds of sites, particularly if they have no other means to do so. However, if you have no other option, I'd strongly encourage you to seek out venues that don't directly finance the people exploiting anime against the wishes of the creators. Even with ad-block, you're providing economic incentives for bootleggers by using these sites. I'd recommend learning about torrenting instead.

@ShxdowWxaith @Real_Kilometers In our experience with JAV and this surely applies to other digital media, the "if you only X" user will almost NEVER pay for content. They will always find another reason to pirate. Rightsholders (JAV or otherwise) can do more, but being good people requires mutual respect.

@Real_Kilometers I didn't say watched content. I said content that rights holders refuse to license out. Where is Fullmetal Alchemist 03? Slayers? Eureka Seven? Rights holders are refusing to license their content or make it available for purchase. Until they do, I don't care about piracy.

Twitch giving Kaho this role is not the issue. She did porn, that's all right. The issue remains that after retiring, she delisted 99% of her works yet still banks off her "porn name", leans hard into the NSFW, yet throws our industry under the bus every chance she gets.

MissAV's live cams are run by Stripchat (that's their business name on the "My AV" whitelabel cam site). "A place of sexual freedom." (quoting their site) but also a place where seemingly their marketing outreach has no issues working with obvious pirates.

@largehotcoffee Jacob, you brought up a good point few in our industry want to talk about: the COVID era was great (for sales, not other things of course), but with booms always comes busts. With the exception of VR possibly due to users with more disposable income, adult is being hammered.

Publishing is hard. Looking at this more, their net income halved between 2022 and 2023 w/ flat revenue. 2024 had another 11% rev decline and shrinking assets... And if I'm reading it right it means Seven Seas had to spend around $6 million more, to generate the same amount of sales. Costs have gone up for literally everything! Guess that post COVID manga bump was good for everyone (not just us). And looks like other publishers have been having a hard time since it wore off.

✨What's inside Document #1 (The Four Page): ✨ Surprisingly, this acquisition shared a lot about Seven Sea's Finances which I'll describe below Fiscal Year December 2022 Net Assets: $19.5 Million USD Total Assets: $32.6 Million USD Net Sales: $56.4 Million USD Operating Profit: $12.9 Million USD Adjusted Operating Profit: $16.6 Million USD Net Income: $13 Million USD Fiscal Year December 2023 Net Assets: $20.5 Million USD Total Assets: $33.3 Million USD Net Sales: $56.8 Million USD Operating Profit: $6.7 Million USD Adjusted Operating Profit: $10.4 Million USD Net Income: $7 Million USD Fiscal Year December 2024 Net Assets: $21.1 Million USD Total Assets: $27 Million USD Net Sales: $50.4 Million USD Operating Profit: $6.6 Million USD Adjusted Operating Profit: $10.3 Million USD Net Income: $6.8 Million USD Notes: • The COVID-19 Pandemic increased Seven Sea's net sales 5.2 times from 2019 to 2023 • It's noted that while sales declines, The results for Fiscal Year December 2025 are to be inline with 2024's results

@The_Doddler @SpaceFlowerXx I'm surprised they only had one card biller. Most adults sites like the one I own (ZENRA) have multiple just for this reason. If in the unlikely event a site loses one, it's quite stressful for at most a few weeks, but not a five alarm fire.

@SpaceFlowerXx Yeah, it's pretty unfortunate... their card processor shut them down back in december and when they came back online the ability to enable controversial tags on your account was missing, as well as their forums. It's hard not to think that last one is to avoid criticism...

I know Fakku is a victim of credit card censorship, but I'm a little sad they haven't acknowledged publicly that they've had to pull all the content that had controversial tags from their site. After two months I'm worried they won't be able to find a solution.

While his views on AI I may not share, he's right on the money per streaming services. If you like a band, you buy their albums (Bandcamp, even Amazon MP3). Spotify for almost all acts is the equivalent of throwing pocket change at a busker and thinking you did good.
ICE T@FINALLEVEL

I disagree… Fans want us to make and produce the music. Then shoot and expensive Video.. Then they get it for Free if they have an Apple subscription. Or Spotify pay us .007 cents a stream. The days of the expensive Videos are over. There isn’t even MTV. Ai is the only sensible way to add visuals to a song. You can hate it all you want. It’s the Future.
