@SecurityTrybe Minus the thousands of engineers, physicists, and mathematicians on the ground doing math by hand. As you fail to mention.

@Amank1412 Didn't Salesforce and AWS already learn the hard way that AI isn't the total replacement?

Let me tell you what’s actually going on here
Jensen Huang didn’t just say “AGI is here” for fun.
This is the CEO of the most valuable company on earth.
He doesn’t say things by accident.
Here’s what people are missing:
NVIDIA is building for a world of
→ 7.5M AI agents
→ 100 agents per human
Dev cycles? Months → 30 minutes.
Engineers getting paid in AI compute.
And the real shift:
“AI is now infrastructure.”
Like electricity.
Like the internet.
Except it thinks.
Layoffs are already starting.
Most people still don’t get it.
If this is real, the job market didn’t evolve…
It just reset.
This is the starting gun.

@meetingcpp HPC with Scientific computing. OpenMPI, OpenMP, MFEM, Hypre, etc etc.
Literally easiest lib on the planet to multi thread apps with OpenMP. Make programs go brrrr.

@Abhinavsns And the Human Genome Project used PERL not python, not C, Perl to digitize DNA.
So you're saying we should go back to Perl?

@icanvardar Still remember 10 yrs ago when they said web3 was gonna take over, and every website would be on the blockchain.
This is another fad because the general public doesn't like change.
In 2035 we'll be arguing over how magic jelly beans are the future and every site needs them.

@coolerputt nah 😅
this is FEM stuff
GMRES/BoomerAMG + adaptive mesh refinement and it escalates fast
billions of elements packed into tiny regions
1TB isn’t a flex here
it’s just what it takes

@tunguz Or you can find the 334445543832168 YT videos or git repos where they clone the UI of it. Takes maybe 6-8 hours if you're a decent FE dev.

Twitter started 20 years ago.
In 2022 it was acquired for $44B.
Today I build a clone of it in 44 minutes for $4 in Claude credits.

@Tech_girlll Makes it a bit slow. Also no memory control at least for me.
It's a tool like all things. I need a precision screwdriver for my work, not a crowbar.

It’s surprising how often universities leave older faculty pages accessible, with archived lectures.
I’ve come across some excellent C code this way, as well as a self-written textbook that’s been very helpful for my FEM research. Maybe not too old here but the information is out there for anything.
