You don't want to be called a FRAUD. Well, spoiler alert ⚠ ↓ I was afraid too, but I slayed my fears and I got the WIN. Here's my story... ___________________ It was a cold Friday night, 11:32 pm. I was sipping my white coffee when I saw the post on X. I almost spilled the coffee, as I cursed out loudly... Holy sh*ttt! It was a $10,000 video contest, 10 f*cking grand! One winner, winner takes it all. Is this my big break? I called my buddy/videographer, King Anyi, and shouted excited over the phone... "𝙔𝙤, 𝙗𝙧𝙤... 𝙒𝙚'𝙫𝙚 𝙜𝙤𝙩 𝙖 𝙗𝙞𝙜 𝙤𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮, 𝙡𝙚𝙩'𝙨 𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙢𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙘 𝙩𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧". But he said he wasn't in town, and would recommend someone else to me. I didn't want someone else, I wanted someone who will sacrifice skin in the game, I wanted King Anyi, so... I gave up on the whole idea, I was afraid I couldn't pull off creating a great content with Anyi not being in town. Don't stop reading ↓↓ ___________________ Then on Sunday, after the preacher's sermon, I grabbed my fears by the balls. I called Anyi 📱, took the recommendation, and set up a new plan to create a $10k winning content. - I had 5 days to do this. - I had a $150 budget. - I had a team of 5. - I was anxious. But here is what we did ↓ • I wrote the scripts and did my facials on Monday. • I went to the saloon to do a box braid with Brazillian wool on Tuesday. • Rehearsed and spent the whole of Wednesday shooting the video with my team. • Sent the video files 📂 interstate to Anyi on Thursday, to edit (5+ hours drive). • Got the deliverable video file 12:00pm on Friday from Anyi, and submitted before the 05:00pm deadline. It was a "fast and furious" kind of production. I felt like Vin Diesel and a bit of Dwayne Johnson! Did we win? Read on to find out ↓ ___________________ I had just got back home from watching the games with my brothers on Saturday. I had pasta cooking on the stove when I saw the announcement post. The results were out. I LOST. I f*cking lost. I gave this my all. → Time. → Money. → Sleepless nights. And I FAILED. The next two days were hell. I wanted to crawl into a hole and hide. I felt I wasn't good enough. I felt like a fraud. So I picked up my writing pad and went back to creating content (My 9 to 5). Then it happened ↓ ___________________ Another opportunity to win $2000 grand prize from @SamuelXeus's contest. I had my doubts and bias, and remember... I had crushed my fears earlier by the balls and it punched me in the face, so... → What do I have to lose now 🤷‍♀️? I wrote the thread, as creatively as I could, and attached my video to it (My pinned post). I submitted alongside 500+ other participants. I didn't think I could win, at least not the $2k grand prize. Guess what??? ___________________ I WON! (I'm tearing up right now 🤧). I f*cking won the grand PRIZE. I cried, I laughed, I cried again. It still feels surreal. An underdog. This was not the end ↓↓ ___________________ 2 hours later, I won the grand prize of another writing contest. Currently in collaboration with top Web3 projects, creating content. There's more to say, but... I want to stop the tears from pouring out... lol 😂 ☺. 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘂𝗽.
