I express my emotions better via writing too as I can address each point well. Talking takes all senses(hearing, sight, taste, brain function) at the same time. I honestly don’t process that fast, so texting is my best way to express. We can talk later after I am clear.

This is not avoidance. Avoidants don’t even address anything at all. Text o, talk o, even if you kneel down to beg. If you pressure them too much they will disappear on you for weeks and come back to act like nothing happened. You are regulating your emotions and that’s great!!!

honestly, mr eazi is me on many days🫠. there are probably better ways, and we should learn the tools to meet our partners halfway. for me, writing is the easiest way to express my thoughts. we can talk after i write so we don’t miss anything, but if i try to talk it through immediately, especially when i’m upset, i’ll be incoherent. they call us avoidant, but i think it’s just a different way of processing.

This is not what it means to be a conflict-avoidant person, however. An avoidant wouldn’t even want to address the issue at all.
That people take time to process and choose a medium that’s more effective for them to communicate ≠ they’re avoiding conflict. They’re basically practicing emotional regulation as they know how.
I know psyche-speak is common now and everyone is adopting it, but please, let’s be careful with our diagnoses and projections.

Turned 30 today and this is my win list from my 20s;
1. Got an M.Sc
2. Got an MBA
3. Became a very senior manager
4. Started a service based business
5. Hit my 30th milestone savings and investment target
6. Got married
7. Had 3 children
8. Walked away from an extremely abusive marriage despite society’s opinion
9. Fully recovered from an autoimmune disease induced by abuse
10. Beat depression and have started sleeping so well it’s becoming worrisome 😂
