I've had my work viewed by some of the best designers out there even complimented by many but nothing comes close to this In the short period I interviewed here was a fulfilling one, I've admired the team for a long time now, the comment makes me know that I am on the right path, will definitely keep in touch I launched the 5th iteration of my portfolio: graysondaniel.com Check out the test task I did for them and any other project that may interest you!! Yeah, I'm that good :)

In February 2025, Bybit lost $1.5 billion in a single transaction. The signers were using hardware wallets and believed they were approving a routine multisig transaction, but they were actually granting attackers access. A few months later, users of Phantom lost $1.5 million across 80 victims after interacting with a fake NFT mint site. The transaction looked normal in the wallet prompt, so users approved it and they got drained. These issues exposed a deeper problem we face with hardware wallets, and it's called blind signing. ► What is blind signing? When you interact with a smart contract by swapping tokens, staking, minting NFTs, or approving a DeFi protocol, your hardware wallet receives transaction data that it should decode and display before you approve it. But smart contracts are complex. Instead of showing something clear like: “You are approving Uniswap to spend 500 USDC.” many devices receive and display raw hexadecimal code, such as: 0xa9059cbb000000000000... Your wallet may simply show “Data Present” or a long hash. At that point, you have two choices: Approve the transaction without understanding it, or cancel it entirely. And this is where attackers exploit the most, you don't understand it but you'll approve the transaction. We need a solution. How will hardware wallets handle this in 2026? Different wallets are trying to solve this problem in different ways and I'll compare three known wallets. ► Trezor Trezor has made progress with its newer Trezor Safe models. These devices can parse EIP-712 structured data, allowing transactions to be displayed as readable fields that users confirm step-by-step. For common DeFi interactions, this works pretty well but this approach depends heavily on how the dApp formats the transaction. When the contract data arrives in a non-standard format, the wallet may not fully decode it. In cases like this, you’ll rely on your judgment. ► Ledger In 2024, they introduced the Clear Signing Initiative and proposed ERC-7730, a standard designed to translate complex smart-contract data into readable JSON. In 2025, they added the Generic Parser, allowing compatible dApps to send structured metadata that hardware wallets can display clearly. This is a great improvement but it has limitations. For transactions outside of Ledger Live, third-party platforms like exchanges, wallets, and dApps must also adopt Clear Signing standards. If they don’t implement Clear Signing, users still face the same problem: enable blind signing or cancel the transaction. ► ERA Wallet. Instead of relying on external standards, they use the ERA Lens™ system, which decodes smart-contract call data directly on the device. It displays the function being executed, token amounts involved, and the destination addresses. If the transaction cannot be decoded, the device stops the signing process entirely. It doesn’t warn and allow you to continue, the transaction simply cannot be signed. This is very different from the rest. While other wallets warn users when they cannot interpret a transaction, ERA prevents approval of anything it cannot read. We focused on keeping private keys offline and ignored blind signing. If users understand what they are authorizing before signing it, we'll have fewer attacks. My comparison should help you see that.
