Blame it on his petrolhead roots, but Sean has always had a soft spot for REC — the Danish brand’s use of reclaimed automotive and aeronautical materials pulls right at his heartstrings. The new limited-edition REC 98T/4 takes the concept to a new level, incorporating a piece of legendary driver Ayrton Senna’s 1986 Lotus 98T Formula 1 car. Sean went hands-on with the REC 98T/4, now live on aBlogtoWatch. ablogtowatch.com/hands-on-the-l…

Is this the best Swiss dive watch under $2,500? 🤔 The Longines Hydroconquest has been a fixture of the brand for nearly two decades, but after the recent Hydroconquest GMT and its success, many wondered when that design language would transfer over to the main diver’s watch. Wait no more. Longines just unveiled the next generation Hydroconquest series, featuring two case sizes, two bracelets, and great colors. Sean went hands-on with the brand new Hydroconquest, now live on ABTW. ablogtowatch.com/hands-on-debut…

Mike believes that at some point or other, every enthusiast imagines what their own watch brand would look like. Simon Ryan of Escapement24 actually went and did it. Meet the Monceau Model 01, a sporty daily watch inspired by both contemporary trends and the Monceau brand of old. Coupling a hand-wound caliber with 200m of water resistance and a sharp bracelet, it’s a compelling package for under $1,000. Head over to ABTW for Mike’s full review. ablogtowatch.com/monceau-model-…

Mike has a confession: he’s never actually reviewed a tourbillon. Sure, he’s had plenty of hands-on time with them, but never long-term enough. Coupled with a disdain for useless horological trinkets, it begs the question — why the Peacock Witness? Chinese watchmaking has undergone a veritable boom in the last decade, coming into its own after years of neglect from enthusiast attention, as brands now proudly highlight the manufacturing prowess going into them. Which leaves us with the Peacock Witness Tourbillon, featuring an in-house tourbillon that Mike thinks is even better considered than many of the Swiss competition. All that for under $2,500. Head over to ABTW for more. Link in bio. ablogtowatch.com/peacock-witnes…

Citizen’s Promaster series of tool watches stands alone as the most functional timepieces on the planet. The new Navihawk A-T is purpose-built for aviators, inspired by the cockpits of fighter jets, and featuring robust functions ideal for the demands of professional pilots. The Navihawk A-T’s dial is inspired by the aurora borealis as seen from 40,000 feet over the Arctic, its shifting hues resonating with anyone fortunate to have viewed them from the cockpit or ground. The Citizen Navihawk A-T is, first and foremost, a navigation tool. Its 48mm stainless steel case is packed with features starting with the external compass bezel, internal slide rule bezel for fuel consumption and distance calculations, and a chronograph. Two is one, and one is none — redundancy is key for pilots. Inside is the H804 Eco-Drive movement that is synchronized to an atomic clock, enabling seamless timekeeping across 26 time zones without ever worrying about changing a battery. Whether you’re piloting a Boeing 787 Dreamliner across the Atlantic or simply looking for a reliable chronograph that provides tons of real-world functionality, the Citizen Promaster Navihawk A-T delivers.
