I had an 11 year old patient who got bitten by a snake with cytotoxic venom. The only antivenom we had in the hospital had expired in 2014. I had to watch the patient's platelets drop from 300 to 1 not being able to do anything, watching blisters form from the snakebite

Bear Igbo name, practice Igbo culture, worship Igbo Gods, & speak Igboid language, but claim you’re not Igbo? It will NOT WORK! Recently, we saw Northerners swearing to attack NdIgbo on issues they have with Ikwerre, & none of those Ikwerre is not Igbo came out to say anything.

Ahh! Which one we go believe like this! This doctor said it’s not good to drink too much water, especially when your body isn’t asking for it. He explained that the kidneys and the hormones responsible for regulating water will signal the body when it needs it. According to him, doctors actually know this but say the opposite, and that’s why there are so many kidney pr0blems in the country.

My wife had a blood transfusion during labor without discussing it with me first. In our faith, this is something we don’t support, and she’s always known how important that belief is to me. Our baby is now four months old, but I’m still struggling to move past what happened. Every time I look at my child, I’m reminded of that moment, and it’s affecting how I feel as a father and as a husband. This situation has put a serious strain on our marriage. My wife has been asking for forgiveness, but I feel conflicted and unsure of how to move forward. My wife chose survival over my faith, and I can't forgive her.”

They told us our language was borrowed. They were wrong. I went into the 1800s archives and found the 9th-century receipts to prove that the Igbo DNA is the blueprint, not a Ghost one. Watch the full breakdown and share.

Coming back from church and I feel like my spirit was not fed today, honestly the gospel in catholic doesn’t cut it for me. Catholic priests should go for pastoral teachings to learn how to dissect the Bible inorder to satisfy their parishioners spiritually”— Catholic Lady bares her heart

TEA AND BREAD FOR UMU-ADA. Not all UMU-ADA in igboland sleeps over whenever their member is being buried...like my kindred UMUADA...they don't sleep over...they gather same day their member is being buried...do their funeral rites and go home and it pains me. My maternal home (ikwunne) UMU-ADA sleeps over whenever their member is being buried...My mum doesn't miss that sleeping over aspect..I asked her one day why do u people sleep over there? She said it's becos of "Obi-Nwanne".. Ịfụnanya anyị nweru ebe nwanne anyị nọ mere anyi bụ ụmụ ada ji anọkọ welu kwanyere ya úgwù ikpeazụ..After the burial, in those two days they will spend there..they will gather the children of the deceased...pray for them and give them "ndụmọdụ" on how they will be living together as one family now that their mother is gone....I so much love this about my maternal home UMU-ADA.....After that two days of staying with you (the deceased children) it is a MUST that you give them (umu-ada) some gift when they are about to leave... "LISTEN" the gift depends on the financial capability of that family. Sometimes my mum comes home with a box of matches... sometimes she comes home with few pieces of washing soap and bathing soap. sometimes she comes with wrapper...the biggest gift she brought home some years ago was a wrapper (george)..the deceased first daughter who lives in the USA brought it and shared it to them herself and nobody forced her..she did it willingly and happily...So you see umu-ada will never force you to do what your pocket can't afford......Now let me ask..How much is a carton of matches or carton of detergent? If you buy it and present it to them when they are about to leave and say this is what we can afford...and we are using it to say thank you for leaving your homes for two days to stay with us.. praying and advising us...We all appreciate you our mothers...And umu-ada will say the final prayers take their carton of matches or whatever that was given to them..share it among them and leave.... The tea and bread you give them every morning for the number of days they will stay is even how much? How much is tin of milk and Milo? How much is loaves of bread? You can't feed mothers that left their homes to come stay with you guys because you lost your mother or grand mother?...Do you think those mothers are hungry women? Some of their kids are millionaires and billionaires but you come on twitter to talk shit about umuada Igbo simply because you gave them tea and bread? Do you think they don't eat what is bigger than what you people even offered them? Or is it because you see them in your house paying the last respect to their member as tradition demands? Your late mother or grand mother did you know how many people's houses she has gone to drink this tea with her fellow umu-ada before she died or is it that some of you as just plain stupid or what? YOU want them to scrape this aspect of Igbo tradition because you're daft and stupid..Some of you that were born outside igboland and knows nothing about igbo tradition should shut the fuck up on this app and stop writing nonsense..Some of you have not even crossed Niger bridge since you were born in that city but will come on twitter to write nonsense upon nonsense.... Stop coming here to castigate and demonize our culture..if you don't know shit about our culture kindly shut up.... Everytime UMU-ADA this UMU-ADA that... Ndi-ara

“In 1997, my wife told me she wanted to go to the market, and my salary at the time was just ₦5,000. Then I heard God tell me to give Him the ₦5,000. I obeyed and dropped it as a sacrifice. In less than one hour, a woman came to me and said God spoke to her to bless me with ₦25,000, a bag of rice, a bag of beans, and a crate of eggs.” — David Ibiyeomi says.

@onyeka_chii @islemonjuice This is PURE GELE inherited from the Yoruba people Ichafu is a light material used to make a simple scarf. It's not firm enough to make anything you provide here. Since you don't have anything original, you start brazenly stealing from others - Culture vultures

Ichafu remain part and parcel of Igbo women's attire! First frame— early 1930s Igbo woman 2nd frame— 1950s Otu Odu women in Onitsha. 3rd frame— a more recent 1973 picture of Igbo women. There's no pre 1970s picture of Yoruba women on real Ichafu.
