Ok so my son the pitcher after 24 at bats is sitting at a batting average of .500 and he hit a home run last night and we literally have not cared at all about his hitting oh he also pitched 5 innings struck out 7 and only walked 2 67 percent strikes

You must release your foot from the rubber without forward motion towards home, but for a side arm pitcher it can be a challenge. is this a balk because his back foot goes towards home, how do the umpires see this move after the pitcher has come set. Does the arm need to stay tucked until you land to not be called a balk?
