Gareth Wilson calls out the latest 'united Ireland' campaign, this time launched by Fine Gael. When this stunt has passed us all by, Northern Ireland will still exist and the arguments in favour of our place in the United Kingdom will still be overwhelming.

Sinn Féin, Alliance and the SDLP are trying to gaslight anyone who raises legitimate concerns about illegal and uncontrolled immigration. The public don’t need to be told what they can see with their own eyes. They see through it, and you’re fooling no one.

@katy_scarletta Fair enough. But eating grass regardless seems to be a very odd strategy in a society that is changing around you.

Rois Maire new Lord Mayor of Belfast supposed to represent all the city. So far shes acted as a spokesperson for one fraction.IMO shes taken a onesided political stance and ignoring the lawful and deeply held concerns of a massive part of our community.#Bringback @Tracybelfast1

A government's job isn't to tell people what they're allowed to worry about. It's to listen to the concerns of voters around immigration and address them honestly. Dismissing people as racist instead of engaging with their arguments isn't democracy it's gaslighting and avoidance

As one dimensional people like Emma, Feeney, Donnelly et al get increasingly indulged by the media (even when they have nothing new to say) it makes it much easier for their played out, tribal & fundamentally sectarian approach to connect with younger people. Very dangerous 1/2
Byline Times@BylineTimes

"Violence did not arrive in Northern Ireland on a boat of migrants, but through British colonialism that incited civil war and the partitioning of Ireland, leaving behind a legacy of sectarianism and a society scarred by conflict." ✍️ @EmmaCDeSouza bylinetimes.com/2026/06/12/nor…

Say what you like about SF they can sometimes be consistent. SF was pretty quiet when white male Robert McCartney was attacked with a knife & his throat cut. SF was pretty quiet when white male Stephen Ogilvie was attacked with a knife suffering severe head injuries.

Sinn Fein MUST work to ensure Northern Ireland fails if it is to achieve its aims of a United Ireland. A successful and prosperous Northern Irish populace would be less inclined to seek greener pastures in a UI. The balancing act for SF is a critical, yet transparent, one.
Citizen Journalists@citizenjournos_

Sinn Féin: The National Populist Party. Immigration: SF (South) = Demands national controls on numbers SF (North) = Fully supports — all welcome, more is better Vaccine Passports: SF (South) = Opposed SF (North) = Supported & Implemented

@Cheesewright3 What are you then? Built an orange state, lost it and now pine for it. From catholics to brown people. Bookended pogroms. Everything is so alien, even the native language. A WASP paradise of burnt pallets and poverty and hatred of themums (now includes ethnics).

We (the "Protestant"community to use an easily understood term) aren't colonials, invaders or planters yet those terms are increasingly entering common usage. This isn't by accident or coincidence. It is simply sectarian. I would never generalise about a community in that way 2/2

There is no meaningful leadership in @niexecutive. They can’t agree on the most basic things. Financial acumen is zero. Law & order, the health service etc are in crisis No one trusts them anymore. We are no longer spiralling into an existential crisis. We are in one.
Sam McBride@SJAMcBride

The Stormont Executive is far more to blame for this week’s chaos than it wants to admit. While happily debating immigration - which isn’t their job - ministers aren't so keen to admit where their failures have encouraged the thuggishness we've seen. belfasttelegraph.co.uk/comment/this-d…

@DominikDiamond Best thing that could happen to Hearts is to lose that serial loser. Getting a coach who makes better use of JT would be a serious upgrade.

Ulster loyalism has been getting a lot of love and I think that's due to the Northern Ireland riots🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 I think it has also disproven the English separatist myth that Britishness is a civic identity as it has shown that British identity in Ulster is still solid and strong

The “punishment” @CelticFC received for their thuggish fans’ behaviour just before then end of the match is a bad joke and is further evidence of deep rooted corruption within @spfl @ScottishFA Time for an overhaul. They are making our game a laughing stock.
Matthew Lindsay@MattLindsayHT

🗣️"What took place was appalling, put the personal wellbeing of Hearts players at risk and should never have been allowed to happen." Celtic's final day punishment doesn't go far enough - the SPFL must get tough on fan unrest. In @heraldscotland 🔗👇 heraldscotland.com/sport/26190852…
