@BaltCoPS @Team_MCES @BCPSSci Today in science we discussed absorbency! Our groups tested 3 different materials to see which would be most absorbent 🧽. Students recorded their results and will decide which material they will use when making their brick 🧱 walls!

@BaltCoPS @Team_MCES @BCPSMATH We played rock, paper, scissors to create line plots in math. Students then answered questions about their wins, losses, and ties. Line plots can be so much fun to create and interpret!

@BaltCoPS @Team_MCES Today during morning meeting we discussed what we want MORE and LESS of in the new year! Students also made personal 2020 goals for home and school!

@BaltCoPS @Team_MCES We took a break from fables today to explore how other parts of the world celebrate holidays in December! We discussed how families in Portugal celebrate Christmas and how it compares to our family traditions!

@BaltCoPS @Team_MCES @BCPSMATH Check out our “tree-rific” unknown change word problems! Students were given an unknown change problem and after solving, they gave their answer in expanded form!

@BaltCoPS @Team_MCES @BCPSMATH Our math small groups had an opportunity to look at how someone (fictional) solved a word problem and grade their work using our grading system (CD, P, N) while explaining their reasoning.

@BaltCoPS @Team_MCES we’ve added adverbs to our parts of speech Brain 🧠 Breakfast this week! Ss are also working on identifying nouns as concrete, abstract, common, or proper.
