@pmisson Maybe the population has no direct effect, but the infrastructure to serve the population does. Therefore, if the focus was on these infrastructures rather than the population, it might be popular. Just a thought, though—I have no evidence.

Our paper on mini-grid electrification in Indonesia is out now in ESD. Mini-grids are a beautiful technology. But the high-cost-low-demand dilemma in remote areas, the natural target group for mini-grids, makes sustainable operation challenging. authors.elsevier.com/sd/article/S09…
