@rageraven6666 At least the shark has the decency to use you for nutritional value. Moms just want people to be miserable

@PunishedAG @hecubian_devil Idk, she’s kinda just right. Antivax parents can legally just straight up kill their kids but god forbid a kid gets hormone blockers.

@hecubian_devil You did it, you found a way to make this about trans people
English

The government won't force you to vaccinate your kids, because we have certain principles about bodily autonomy and parental rights in this country. Even when the results are awful. We still have certain principles about personal choice.
But with trans healthcare, there's a huge and growing movement to take away families' rights to make their own medical decisions about this kind of care.
Even many liberal and centrist publications and commentators will constantly debate the quality of scientific evidence for youth gender medicine--at worst, the argument seems to be "we're not sure if it works, because there just isn't a lot of high-quality evidence." The implicit argument is that if the science is insufficiently compelling, the state would be justified to remove the liberty of families to make these choices for themselves. That state legislatures, or Congress, would be warranted in making these healthcare choices *for* American families--because the science is ambiguous.
But where the science it *totally unambiguous*--on the benefits and safety of vaccination, or the necessity in many emergencies for blood transfusions, we let anti-vaxxers put their children (and other children!) at risk. We let Jehovah's Witnesses deprive their children of lifesaving emergency care.
In other words, we are so committed, as a country, to the freedom of families and individuals to make their own choices about their bodies and their healthcare, that we allow them even to make *objectively very bad choices*.
Except, apparently, when it comes to transgender healthcare. Here, we make an exception. Here, Congress gets to choose for you. In this one area, you are not to be permitted the freedom to make choices for yourself or your child. The government will tell you what you can and cannot do, as a parent.
You're allowed to make medical decisions for your child that result *directly* in their death; but you're not allowed to get them healthcare that you and your child sincerely believe is necessary for their flourishing and health--not if that healthcare challenges people's norms about sex and gender.

Father of Daisy, the second little girl to die of measles in Texas, tells Robert F. Kennedy Jr- founded anti-vaccine group, Children's Health Defense, that he doesn't regret not getting her vaccinated, and won't vaccinate any future children.

Said it before but never ever forget that no amount of sanitizing your sex life or sanding down your LGBT edges will make bigots accept you. So don’t debase yourself by capitulating an inch to them, especially in ways that throw your fellow community members under the bus.

The rise in conservative values within the gay/trans community is concerning and I feel obligated to tell yall that selling out the way you are will not save you.

@andycollins6768 @idkijustthibk It’s a fetus. Just as alive and just as human as cancer cells

@idkijustthibk It’s genuinely insane how many people think sex is deserving of punishment and that a human life an appropriate punishment
English

@andycollins6768 @idkijustthibk Objective to who? A fetus is a medical term and it doesn’t become a baby until it’s viable at around 21 weeks.
English

@beemQueem @idkijustthibk That's purely subjective 👍
It is OBJECTIVELY a innocent human life
English

@andycollins6768 @idkijustthibk Being alive also doesn’t make it a baby, btw. It’s still just an embryo/fetus.
English

@beemQueem @idkijustthibk Good thing we leave scientific questions to scientists and philosophical questions to philosophers 😜
English

@andycollins6768 @idkijustthibk Fair enough I guess, but scientists also agree that cancer cells are alive. Teratomas even grow teeth and hair
