We need to know why we are making this movie beyond the fact that it’s ‘Spider-Man 4’ and they make loads of money and we’re going to just have a big summer. Why are we making this movie?’ And Destin was super instrumental in that, but it was just really great to constantly be calling up the studio and [producers] Amy [Pascal] and Rachel [O’Connor], who I love, and be like, ‘Well, Chris is doing it this way. I think the funniest thing about the Backrooms wiki is the misconception of ''Almond water'' . The first iterations mentioned puddles and rooms having an ''Almond-like'' smell, implying the presence of cyanide, making the environment already more hostile. Over time people took it way too literal and believed it was actual water made out of almonds. Now you can find said water on every floor on vending machines, acting pretty much like a healing potion.

Backroom discourse is filled with vitriol most of the time but there is a clear demarcation that makes one version better in every way in my opinion, and it is to this day my favorite internet urban legend by far.
