Finally managed to catch the #comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) from #Rousay #Orkney - not too hard in binos but faint. Photo shows it much better @NewsOrkney @The_Orcadian @orkneycom

@meteorbill @sjb_astro @OrkSciFest @NewsOrkney @aurorawatchuk The bright arc persisted a long time, and then there was a bit more activity about 01:00 UT according to my aurora-cam which died away quickly. Then the arc/glow lasted another hour or so.

@callump @sjb_astro @OrkSciFest @NewsOrkney @aurorawatchuk Just saw your post. Do you have any pics from later? The whole sky looked extraordinarily bright, almost glowing. Didn't see any distinct auroras but it was really noticeable. Too early for twilight (camera check ~02.30bst) and absolutley uniform.
