The Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (@ZictaZM) has officially opened applications for the 2026 ICT Innovation Programme, inviting Zambia’s innovators, startups, and entrepreneurs to submit bold, tech-driven solutions.
The programme is focused on identifying and supporting innovations that address real local challenges while contributing to national development. Selected participants will gain access to structured business and technical development support, designed to refine ideas, strengthen execution, and accelerate impactful digital solutions.
Beyond funding and support, the initiative continues to play a key role in shaping Zambia’s innovation ecosystem, creating a platform that nurtures creativity, entrepreneurship, and the growth of homegrown technologies.
The ICT Innovation Programme is delivered in collaboration with a strong network of ecosystem partners, with Airtel Networks Zambia coming on board as the Platinum Sponsor for the 2026 programme cycle.
For innovators looking to scale their ideas and make a real impact, this presents a significant opportunity to plug into one of the country’s leading innovation support programmes.

A letter from the future The world our students will work in doesn't exist yet... AI is transforming industries.. Skills are replacing degrees... Adaptability is becoming ensential. Schools that are upgrading today... Understand one thing clearly... Waiting is no longer an option.. They didn't upgrade because it was easy.. Zambia’s Revenue Revolution
From K29.9B in 2015 to a record K160B in 2025, the Zambia Revenue Authority has seen a 435% increase in annual collections!
Key Highlights:
🔹 2015: K29.9 Billion
🔹 2022: K102.6 Billion (First time hitting 100B+)
🔹 2025: K160.0 Billion
In a discussion with Dingani Banda, the @ZambiaRevenue Commissioner General, we discussed how ZRA is the backbone of national development, with domestic tax revenue financing over 65% of the 2026 National Budget.
We are increasingly becoming less dependent of grants/aid and enhancing our economic sovereignty!

For those unaware, SpaceX has already shifted focus to building a self-growing city on the Moon, as we can potentially achieve that in less than 10 years, whereas Mars would take 20+ years.
The mission of SpaceX remains the same: extend consciousness and life as we know it to the stars.
It is only possible to travel to Mars when the planets align every 26 months (six month trip time), whereas we can launch to the Moon every 10 days (2 day trip time). This means we can iterate much faster to complete a Moon city than a Mars city.
That said, SpaceX will also strive to build a Mars city and begin doing so in about 5 to 7 years, but the overriding priority is securing the future of civilization and the Moon is faster.
