Considering this, he took 3.1 rather Tua waiting and getting 4.9 but losing any salaries for the next two years with the offset language. Now they both can move on and it’s amicable. All eyes on Calhoun and hoping Chapel Hill doesn’t open up.

Miller's buyout was set to drop from $9.9 million to $4.69 million on April 1. Those figures would have been paid out over the length of Miller's contract and offset by future employment. Details on the coaching change from last week: nytimes.com/athletic/70973…

Cincinnati has reached a buyout settlement with former men's basketball coach Wes Miller. Miller will be paid a lump sum of $3.1 million, a source familiar with the agreement told @TheAthletic. The two sides parted ways last week.

@CoachMinich @codiki Which positions age the best? Is it just OL, DT, TE? I feel like most EDGE players diminish in their 30s as well?

@brandonseamon97 I am telling you I don’t think he is after Al saw his pro day. Maybe if they trade down

The Peter Woods sliding down mocks over the last 3-4 weeks is starting to make sense now. Something is up, the NFL knows something and he’s trying to hide something it seems. To avoid all this testing makes you wonder, would he bomb the testing, thus cratering his stock. Best way to avoid that is to not test. #Bengals it’s a massive risk to draft a guy at pick 10 without a mostly full testing profile.

@CoachMinich Yup that’s my thought. Even outliers I want an extension I can get out of in 2-3 years.

@codiki I think all LBs are 1 contract players That’s why I’m not mad they didn’t sign one in FA

High praise, but like most of us we just want a little more Ari says more work to do!!

The #Bengals’ spending spree on defense is reminiscent of what they did before their Super Bowl run a few years ago... Boye Mafe, Bryan Cook, and Jonathan Allen are strong additions. But they should keep adding.

Franchise QB expresses need to modernize and act more like other Super Bowl contenders. Stubborn old man owner listens but ultimately decides that his way is best and ignores but pays his QB top of market to try to show it will be different No change happens, QB gets hurt and frustrated and asks for a trade Stubborn old man owner says no, and QB retires rather than play Fanbase turns on QB and blames him for the situation.. Which step are we at now?? Sound a familiar yet #Bengals fans?

@TheKingSaysSo1 @watjalukinat What has he done as owner to mark the team monetarily successful? Put out a losing product for a decade? Countless public battles with the city and players over contracts? Votes against any league changes? He was handed a golden goose, he didn’t kill it but it’s malnourished

@codiki @watjalukinat His job, on paper, is more about being monetarily successful than it is on field success, that's a GM and head coach's job.

okereke and tavai are the only cap casualties worth mentioning. are they waiting out devin white(????) or even hoping wagner's price goes down below the comp pick cutoff? do they have a plan? don't answer that.
Ari Meirov@MySportsUpdate

The #Colts have signed WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and LB Akeem Davis-Gaither.

@codiki The idea of potentially going into a season with 1st round pick missing games for like the 7th time in 10 years, is less than ideal.

@PooreJonathon @BengalsTalk They don’t want to pay Dax and DJ so they draft CB that’s been out over a year with a knee issue and then a LB because they were too cheap to fill that need in FA and had to clutch their comp pick because of their Ego with the Trey situation

Object disaster if this is how it plays out and I’m scared this is what they’ll do inside that building. Fill need we didn’t sign in FA (injured) Fill need we didn’t sign in FA Reach reach reach But hey we kept our comp pick amiright? Not a shot at you Paul good article

@TheKingSaysSo1 @watjalukinat The like him until they have to pull teeth to get paid. They like the person he’s a caring old man like a grandpa to them. His job is not to be monetary successful and I would argue he’s not good at that. The NFL cuts those checks from a tv deal he does very little to boost up

@watjalukinat @codiki The team is monetarily successful, so I'd say he does his actual job well. It's just the day to day operations of the football team shouldn't be his or anyone else in the family's job, but they try and make it their job, that's where the problems arise.

You work at your job, you do ok but never have been fully successful of your yearly goals from your boss/peers You boss asks you to do stuff differently to help you keep of with the top reps at your company, but you tell him your way is best. How do you think that would turn out? Would your clients leave for the other reps? That is the #Bengals right now, they are risking their fanbase and best players. They better be right that their way is right…
