Elected officials should be leading the public discourse on governance, moving past personalities and focusing on the systems that serve our citizens. A 'bias' toward meritocracy & accountability is NOT a flaw. It is the prerequisite for a functioning democracy. Therefore, when an internal audit highlights senior-level HR irregularities, the conversation shouldn't be about targeting “that lady” who is speaking, but what the facts are telling us. True leadership is demonstrated not by defending institutional gaps, but by closing them. From a governance perspective, the focus must now be on 3 objective pillars: 📌Verification - How did the vetting process fail to catch these qualification gaps at the senior level? 📌Correction - What is the timeline for ensuring that every taxpayer-funded senior role is occupied by someone meeting the Agency’s own professional standards? 📌Prevention - What systemic changes are being implemented today to ensure 'irregularities' are no longer 'regular' practice? I look forward to quality contributions from lawmakers and those who currently have the power - not just duty - to prioritize technical competence in the nations interest.
