It’s been a year since SUNOO came to the Philippines as the Global Brand Ambassador of 8SECONDS, and the impact of that visit still feels surreal. The best part? Nobody saw it coming. The event was kept completely under wraps until around 7:00 AM Philippine time, when live media coverage and airport photos of SUNOO at Incheon Airport began circulating online. Within minutes, Filipino ENGENEs realized he was on his way to Manila, and the race to SM Mall of Asia had begun. It was a weekday, with most fans either in school or already at work. On top of that, a typhoon was affecting parts of the country. Even with almost no time to prepare and difficult weather conditions, ENGENEs rearranged their schedules, left classes or work as soon as they could, and made their way to SM Mall of Asia to support SUNOO in his first official appearance as the Global Brand Ambassador of 8SECONDS. By the time SUNOO arrived, every floor of the mall was packed. The crowd became so overwhelming that people could barely move. Some locals and casual mallgoers even thought Manny Pacquiao was making an appearance because of how loud and crowded it was. For Filipinos, Pacquiao is a national icon and one of the very few public figures capable of drawing a crowd of that magnitude. As one of the greatest boxers in history, he is a source of immense national pride, making that comparison all the more remarkable. SUNOO’s appointment as Global Brand Ambassador was also a very significant moment for 8SECONDS. After recording a ₩20 billion loss and withdrawing from China in 2018, the brand returned to the global market for the first time in seven years with SUNOO leading the campaign. It wasn’t just another brand partnership, but it also marked the beginning of a new chapter for 8SECONDS, and they chose SUNOO to lead the way. #SUNOO #김선우 #ENHYPEN #엔하이픈 @ENHYPEN_members @ENHYPEN

[ADMINS] How One Unannounced Arrival Filled Three Floors of Mall of Asia On July 9, KIM SUNOO stepped into his first job as 8seconds’ Global Brand Ambassador, creating a moment Filipino ENGENEs will never forget. Although the brand had announced his ambassadorship just three days earlier, there was no clear sign that SUNOO would attend the flagship store opening in the Philippines. All ENGENEs had were rumors. FILO ENGENES have grown used to seeing ENHYPEN endorse local brands from afar, through videos or billboards. Despite being ambassadors for several Filipino companies, they had never visited for a flagship or product launch, aside from fan meetings. But as we always say, the chance was low, but never zero, and everyone held on to that belief for SUNOO. It wasn’t until 5:40 AM Philippine time, when RNX News posted a video of SUNOO at Incheon Airport, that everything became real. In that moment, hope turned into certainty. SUNOO was really coming to Manila. It was a regular weekday. Rain poured across the country, with some areas even experiencing flooding. People were expected to be in school, at work, or going about their daily routines. But still, thousands of Filipino ENGENEs dropped everything for SUNOO. Many traveled five to eight hours from distant provinces just for the chance to see him take on his first-ever role as a brand ambassador. From morning until afternoon, the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors of SM Mall of Asia were packed with ENGENEs of all ages. From the moment the mall opened until the ribbon was cut, the energy of Filipino ENGENEs never faded. Everyone waited with banners and loud chants, filling every corner of the mall with SUNOO’s name. The crowd became so overwhelming that mall passersby began to notice. One of our admins overheard an old man passing by who told his wife, “Si Pacquiao ata dadating.” (“I think Pacquiao is coming.”) An ENGENE gently replied, “Ay, hindi po. Korean idol po. Kim Sunoo po.” (“Oh, no. He’s a Korean idol named Kim Sunoo.”) The passersby, stunned, responded, “Totoo ba? Ang galing naman. Akala ko si Pacquiao. Grabe kasi dami ng tao. Ang tindi pala niyan. Ang galing, kasi hanggang sa baba ang dami ng tao. Ang hirap makadaan.” (“Oh really? I thought it was Pacquiao. The crowd is unbelievable. He must really be something. It’s amazing because the crowd stretches all the way downstairs. It’s hard to even pass through.”) And when SUNOO finally stepped out, the loud cheers quickly turned into tears. It was overwhelming not just for Filipino ENGENEs, but for SUNOO himself, who looked visibly shocked and happy to see the number of people waiting for him and the massive turnout. Without a single announcement, he gathered a crowd larger and louder than many advertised events. His name alone moved people across provinces and cities. His impact was really undeniable, and we were lucky to have witnessed it first hand. Even the guest list reflected the scale of the moment. Some of the most respected names in business and government stood beside SUNOO for the ribbon cutting, including: • Lee Sang-hwa (South Korean Ambassador to the Philippines • Jodan Daron (Director, Philippine Department of Trade and Industry) • Junseo Lee and Hee-jin Ko (Samsung C&T Fashion Division Executive) • Steven Tan (President of SM Supermalls) • Ben Chan (Chairman, Suyen Corporation) • Virgilio Lim (President, Suyen Corporation) • Brian Lim (Vice President, Suyen Corporation) • Councilor Luigi Calixto Rubiano of Pasay City For Filipino ENGENEs, it was the moment they had waited for, to give back even a little of the love SUNOO has always given. The fan project led by KIM SUNOO DAILY filled the venue, and when SUNOO saw it, it felt like every unspoken feeling finally reached him. Rain and time didn’t stop ENGENEs. The lack of an announcement didn’t stop SUNOO’s power. Because when it comes to KIM SUNOO, all it takes is his presence. SUNOO GLOBAL AMBASSADOR #SUNOOIn8SecondsPH #선우_에잇세컨즈

#JUNGWON’s message during his live: Everyone, there’s something I really feel I need to say, and honestly, this is the reason I started this live. I don’t think this is something we can just ignore and move past, especially since Weverse translations are available now. I know there are a lot of people who really loved our past, and I understand that. There are many people who still love how we used to be. But there also seem to be many people who continue to deny the current ENHYPEN or refuse to accept who we are now. Since we hadn’t clearly addressed this before, some people have been saying that we never gave a proper statement, and they’ve continued bringing up the number of members. Of course, I understand the feelings of those who loved ENHYPEN before. But now… ENHYPEN is six members, everyone. ENHYPEN is six members. I understand why some people still do things like certain fan chants at concerts because we hadn’t clearly said anything until now. I understand that. But it’s really not nice to see ENGENEs fighting among themselves because of this. To be completely honest, it also disrupts our performances. It really does. Now that I’ve clearly said this today, I think anyone who truly likes ENHYPEN and supports us will know how they should act going forward. I’m going to be very clear because I don’t want to speak vaguely anymore. When people keep saying things like ‘ENHYPEN is seven,’ all it does is cause fights within our fandom. No one wants ENGENEs to fight each other. The company doesn’t want that. ENGENEs don’t want that. And most importantly, the six of us don’t want that. So from now on, I personally won’t consider people who continue to stir up these kinds of conflicts to be fans. Honestly, this is exactly why I started this live. I came here representing the members. I talked with them, and I’m speaking on behalf of all of us. The other five members feel the same way. So I sincerely hope this stops. Like I said earlier, it’s honestly very distracting during concerts. People spend a lot of money and time to come see us. Concerts are expensive, and it’s unfair to those fans as well. So… I really hope everyone stops doing this. Now that the translations are available, I think everyone understands what I’m saying. And just to be clear, I’m not saying that our concerts in Brazil and Peru were bad. They were amazing. They were really great performances. I’m also looking forward to our upcoming concert in Mexico. I’ve made our position very clear. I’m saying this as a representative of ENHYPEN. The other members all feel the same way. Please stop, and I hope everyone takes some time to think about this seriously. At the end of the day, we’re people who work and perform for ENGENEs, and honestly… seeing all of this wasn’t pleasant for us. +++

It feels like there are still a lot of people who deny the current ENHYPEN because we haven't directly addressed it. Some people even say we didn't explain it properly, bringing up the number of members. I understand the feelings of those who loved ENHYPEN before but ENHYPEN is SIX now everyone. I understand about the fanchants since we didn't clearly say it, but seeing engenes fight because of that doest feel good. Honestly it even interferes with the performance. Since I'm speaking clearly today, from now on, if you're someone who truly likes ENHYPEN, I think you'll know how to act. I'll say it clearly, things like "Enhypen is 7" is just asking for internal fights and I don't like that. No engene wants it right? We don't want it, the company doesn't want it, and engenes don't want it either. So from now on we'll consider those who stir up disputes like that non-fans. Actually that's what I came on live to talk about. I'm representing the members and the other 5 feel the same. I hope it doesn't happen going forward. I'm serious it stresses us out a lot during performances too. I really hope you stop that going forward
