This semester should be interesting. I'll be taking Cybersecurity for Leaders and Managers, plus Business Intelligence and Data Management.

The person who can explain the model to a non-technical stakeholder is more valuable than the person who built it.

Top 4 things they don’t teach you in CS/Data Science until it’s too late: 1.Most models fail in production. not because of the math, but because of dirty data. 2.Git blame is not for blame. It’s for understanding why a decision was made. 3.A query that works on 1,000 rows will humiliate you on 1,000,000. 4.The best data scientists I’ve seen write boring, readable code, not clever code.

@V1rendra_ IPv4 - 32 bit addresses that give 4.3 billion IP options. IP 6 - 128 bit addressed gives 340 undecillion, way my IP options.

I had an idea. I didn’t know Next.js, Git, or Vercel. I shipped it anyway. logbook is an app built for dads of all types. a place to document their dad journey.

Everyone told me to learn JavaScript before TypeScript. I did the opposite. Here’s what happened: Nothing!

Unpopular opinion: type hint everything or don’t write Python at all. x: int, -> list[str], Pydantic for anything crossing a boundary. Future you will thank present you. Your teammates already hate past you.

Taking CS courses during the day. Shipping small products at night. The coursework teaches me how it works. The products teach me why it matters. You need both. One without the other is just theory or spaghetti.

Just standardized my entire dev setup: FastAPI in the back, Next.js App Router in the front, Postgres everywhere, Docker on every deploy. Feels boring. That’s the point. Stop picking new tools. Start shipping.
