@RunninWithNJD @devsarenasty Right off the top of my head - Carter Verhaeghe, Gus Forsling, Niko Mikkola.... Winning as a player almost 25 years ago and winning back to back recently as an AGM are two different things. Shanahan and Sunny is the move.

The ONLY way the Devils’ Reddit is better than the Twitter community is their treatment of Nico. You can post straight up lies on here and get a bunch of 41 year old chuds agreeing in the replies. On Reddit if your post is perceived as even slightly anti-Nico they boil you alive.

For the #NJDevils fans that want to trade Nico (assuming he wants to re-sign with us) - you're not getting an equivalent player in return, a center like that. And then you'd have to draft that kind of player somehow. Good luck!

@jimmysdevs There’s only so much you can do after you try to trade Hamilton multiple times then end up with the teams biggest playmaker out of the lineup. You act like he should do things just because the fans want. I’m curious your thoughts, what was he supposed to do?

@AlexC_NJD They don’t need to replace him that urgently. Maybe there are better options, but put a solid enough team out there and goalies become a systematic play. Look at Blackwood. We thought he sucked. COL signs him to a big deal. Trade Timo, trade whoever else to upgrade at forward.

You need to clear Markstrom's contract this summer, but the goalie market is bereft of talent in free agency. You need a solution, but no clue what's gonna be out there this offseason.

@TheBrattPack63 Trade Hamilton, except I do feel like he’s the only seasoned 2 way defenseman we have. Nemec is on his way, Luke is a little behind him but will get there. Rid Markstrom for more money and bring up Nico if he’s ready. Use Allen as a great backup Wonder when it’s Silayev time?

@TheBrattPack63 I will say for as much as I defend Fitz, it felt like the Meier signing was more hype/taste of Switzerland for Nico. IMO he’s just too slow / isn’t a game changer Not that Brady’s faster, but he has more elements to his game that make him special. Captain material

@WarkSheek Package Meier to OTT for Brady Tkachuk. Can’t get much better Trade Mercer for a better piece, lose Cotter Bratt Nico Brown Bjugstad stay. Hamilton would free up space, Nemec has very high trade value. Pick your poison Marky isn’t the problem. Look at Blackwood in Colorado.
