In June 2016, a dog fell into the Sayran reservoir in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and could not climb out. The concrete walls were too steep and too slippery. A man climbed down to help. Then he could not get back up either. Strangers stopped. Nobody organised anything. Nobody was asked. One person grabbed another person's hand, who grabbed another, who grabbed another, until a human chain stretched down the wall to the water below. The last person in the chain reached down and pulled the dog out. Then they pulled the man out. Someone filmed it from the opposite bank. Nobody in the video was ever identified. Last week, on March 22, 2026, a bronze sculpture was unveiled on the bank of that same reservoir at the exact spot where it happened. It was created by Yerbosyn Meldibekov, one of Kazakhstan's most celebrated contemporary artists, whose work is held in museums in Antwerp, Hong Kong, Singapore and beyond. The sculpture shows a chain of figures holding onto one another. The hand of the last figure extends deliberately beyond the railing so that any passerby can reach out and take hold of it.

RC Lens released a statement opposing any rescheduling of their Ligue 1 match vs PSG (fixed March 6). They argue it would leave them 15 days without a game then force matches every 3 days—unfair for a mid-tier club (10th budget) unable to absorb such disruption. They criticize Ligue 1 increasingly bending to bigger clubs' European priorities, eroding domestic equity and stability, and urge respect for clear rules and fair competition.

At some point, senior Premier League execs have to offer a proper explanation in public for their leniency towards Chelsea. They owe an explanation to fans of clubs punished more harshly. They owe an explanation to those clubs who did abide by the rules. They have to offer some explanation as to why PSR breaches are deemed far more serious than acts of "deception and concealment". Yes, these are the offences of a previous regime at Chelsea. But inconsistencies run through the PL's defence and their reputation is damaged. They can’t hide from a controversy of this magnitude.

Just used to it at this point. Get rid of VAR, it’s not working? Unless you’re Big6 of course. Thanks for the in-depth detailed 30 second check @FA_PGMOL , you’re too kind.

Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Fabian Hurzeler described Arsenal’s tactics as “not football” after accusing the Premier League leaders of time-wasting during Wednesday’s fixture. Brighton were beaten 1-0 by Arsenal at the Amex Stadium as Mikel Arteta’s side extended their lead at the league summit to seven points. 🔗 nytimes.com/athletic/70880…

@OfficialBHAFC top tip, if you’re gonna switch and heavily advertise on the concourse that you’re now selling Murphy’s rather than the @premierleague sponsor Guinness at least make sure you have enough to serve at halftime..

Won nearly half of his games in charge, working with what he inherited, not sure what else he could have done… admit the last two results not ideal but…. Club seem a bit of a laughing stock. Sure Nuno has extra motivation with WHU to send Forest down

“Let us play a player who can: A) Help us stay above you in the league and B) Help us win the cup you’re also trying to win Oh, but we don’t want to pay you for letting us do that, even though we’d agreed to that deal” Quite the stance from Aston Villa.

Unai Emery urges Liverpool to remove #AVFC's obligation to buy Harvey Elliott, insisting that the midfielder is being "damaged" by the situation. "It can change for him, if Liverpool take off this clause. If they don't want to, the player gets damaged." birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football…

At times of struggle and potential disharmony, you need leaders. There’s no bigger leader in that dressing room than Robbo. He should be involved more and it should be an instant NO coz he’s vital to our season. The fact this hasn’t been seen as common sense from our hierarchy is bizarre and makes me ask further questions about what’s going on at us. As much as Robbo might want minutes, it does not benefit Liverpool letting him go. It would benefit us more giving him more playing time in order to keep him. As much as Kerkez is improving, the full backs are still learning on the job. Play Robbo and have a leader on the pitch, that gives us a decent attacking option in Kerkez off the bench when needed! We were in dreamland in the summer with all the signings, but the reality is the squad got thinner and we let too many go. We need leaders, at least til the end of the season. What will be will be, but hope Robbo is still in Liverpool red come next month

The terms of Andy Robertson’s move from Liverpool to Tottenham are agreed in principle for around £5m including add-ons. However, there is no sign off from Liverpool or Robertson yet. Liverpool will only sell, and Robertson give a green light to move, if #LFC can bring in a replacement. Liverpool have struggled to get Kostas Tsimikas because there is no recall clause in his Roma loan. Roma will only sanction his exit if they find a left-back replacement. Roma had a £7m bid rejected for David Møller Wolfe and continue to explore other options. Liverpool and Robertson relaxed about the situation, but if Roma find a left-back, Spurs' move for the Scotland international could be back on. If not, Robertson will stay at Anfield. Robertson's professionalism has been noted having been informed earlier this week the move to Spurs, originally planned for after the #UCL game against Qarabag, is not on at present. One to watch in the final days of the window in case Roma sign a new left-back.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
