Small teams. Hundreds of sites. HIPAA compliance. Welcome to healthcare marketing.
That's the reality Ryan Picchini (CRO, dotCMS), Zain Ishaq (CEO, dotCMS), and Jessica Holton (co-founder & CEO, Ours Privacy) unpack in Episode 15 of 'Real Talk, Real Trust with dotCMS'.
The conversation dives into what's actually breaking for healthcare marketing teams right now. Web content is going stale faster than small teams can review it. The marketing tools teams actually need (analytics, A/B testing, attribution) quietly break HIPAA. And a single marketing team is often stuck running 50+ hospital sites where every edit routes through IT.
If you run web, content, or marketing at a compliance-led healthcare org, hit play and steal 3 ideas you can use this week.

Don't be afraid of AI in content creation.
Jason Smith, CXO and Co-founder of dotCMS, emphasizes that AI prioritizes content with accuracy, authority, and verifiability.
Ensure your content cites real sources, links to research, and stands on solid ground. AI is a tool, not a replacement. Focus on credibility to make your content stand out.
Explore these insights in Episode 14 of "Real Talk, Real Trust with dotCMS" on YouTube, Apple Podcast, and Spotify.

We shipped four new plugins in Q1 that connect dotCMS to tools your teams already use:
1. Google Analytics: Query GA4 dimensions and metrics directly from your CMS. Filter by date range, surface engagement data in templates or headless endpoints.
2. Shopify: Pull product and collection data from the Storefront API into dotCMS pages. Auto-creates content types, supports GraphQL, and works across templates and REST.
3. AWS Rekognition: Auto-tag images the moment content enters a workflow. Objects, scenes, and attributes are written to your tag fields automatically.
4. Google Translate: Translate content into every configured language with a single workflow action. No middleware, no third-party connectors.

Q1 Product Releases - Day 2: For developers
Two things that used to slow down headless CMS adoption:
1. Setting up the project: wiring up auth, spinning up a local CMS, scaffolding the frontend, and installing dependencies. The Create App CLI handles all of it in one command: npx @dotcms/create-app demo. Next.js frontend, Docker CMS instance, API tokens, demo content, UVE. Ready to build.
2. Adding AI search used to mean hand-rolling REST integrations for every project. dotAI Search in the SDK reduces that to client.ai.search(). One method call, semantic search across content and PDFs, under 15 minutes from zero to working.
Both are available now for Evergreen customers.

Q1 Product Releases - Day 1: For content teams
Two releases put more control directly in the hands of content teams without adding complexity for developers.
- The Content Style Editor lets authors manage typography, layout, and background styling right inside the Universal Visual Editor. Changes that previously required a dev ticket now happen in real time.
- The redesigned Content Palette replaces the old scrollable list with a tabbed, paginated workspace, complete with favorites. It's built for environments managing hundreds of content types across multiple sites.
Our goal was to give speed to content teams while maintaining architectural integrity for developers.

How do you make your content stand out to AI?
Jason Smith, Co-founder & CXO at dotCMS, breaks it down: authoritative sourcing, real data, and verifiable proof points like awards and third-party recognition. LLMs don't just read your content — they check the receipts.

Your product data lives in Shopify. Your content lives in dotCMS. Until now, connecting the two meant building something custom.
The new Shopify plugin pulls products and collections straight from the Storefront API into your CMS. It auto-creates content types, works with GraphQL, and exposes everything through REST for headless builds. Install the plugin, drop in your Storefront token, and your teams can start building product pages without leaving dotCMS.

One workflow action, and every language you’ve configured is ready.
The Google Translate integration lives directly inside your dotCMS publishing workflow. The moment content moves forward, translated versions are generated automatically across every language you’ve set up, from structured text fields to WYSIWYG content.
For teams managing dozens of regional sites or multilingual experiences, this removes one of the most manual parts of localization: copying published content into separate translation tools every single time.
The real value is speed at the workflow level. Your localization team starts with an instant draft in every language, then focuses on review, nuance, and market accuracy instead of repetitive setup work.
A much better starting point than translating from scratch after publish.

The Google Analytics 4 plugin pulls real performance data directly into dotCMS. Without any exports, tab-switching, or waiting for a report.
For teams, this means:
- Content decisions informed by live data.
- Dynamic modules shaped by actual usage.
- Workflows that trigger based on engagement
It's a small integration, but it changes how content teams operate day to day.

dotAI Search is now built into the dotCMS SDK. PDFs, files, page content — all searchable by meaning, not metadata.
Your users don't search in keywords. They describe what they want. Add semantic AI search to any headless project in under 15 minutes. It only requires one SDK call without any additional infrastructure setup.

At dotCMS, we show up where the conversation matters.
Ryan Picchini (CRO dotCMS) was onstage at the IDC AI & Data Summit in Toronto this month, making the case for AI-powered tools for the people who actually build your digital experiences - your "Digital Core."
Our message was simple:
- These teams are a bigger share of your payroll than most leaders realize
- AI is about to change how they work
- The platforms they rely on need to be ready - with governance built in, not bolted on
Thanks to everyone who stopped by the booth to connect with Ryan and Jorge Conde (Senior Sales Engineer). The conversations were the best part.
See you at the next one. 💜

A common problem in headless CMS workflows: content authors want to update styles (fonts, colors, layouts), but every change requires developers to modify the frontend and redeploy.
dotCMS solves this with the Content Style Editor. Define styles in your schema and let your components consume them dynamically from the CMS.
See how dotCMS simplifies styling for modern headless architectures.

GEO is not a hack. It's a discipline.
Inna Bosenko, VP Marketing at dotCMS, put it best in Episode 13 of #RealTalkRealTrust:
"The temptation is to game the system - just like early SEO. But it has to be a balanced and consistent strategy with your content providing real context, real depth, proof of your value prop."
What works is consistent, credible content that AI systems can actually trust enough to surface. Authority inside AI-generated answers is the new competitive layer. You can't shortcut your way there.
Full conversation with Inna Bosenko and Ryan Picchini (CRO, dotCMS) on how GEO is reshaping enterprise content strategy 👇

Senior developers don't start with docs. We start with working code.
Most CMS platforms make onboarding harder than it should be - wiring backend, frontend, content models, APIs, auth… before you even understand the architecture.
That's why we built dotCMS create app.
One command → a full headless backend + a frontend starter in your chosen framework.
Open the code, see best practices, and start building without boilerplate.
