Galway County Council has signed a contract with Kenny Civils & Plant Ltd to deliver a new Civic Amenity Facility in Gort. Located 1 km from the town centre, the site will serve households across South Galway and brings the county total to four centres. Due open by year-end.

Construction is set to begin on a major upgrade of the R332, a key regional road linking counties Galway and Mayo. @GalwayCoCo has awarded the Kilbannon Road Improvement Scheme contract to Jons Civil Engineering. The €4 million project is funded by the @Dept_Transport.

You may have noticed that Gort is looking brighter and more colourful than ever this Christmas. More than 70 property fronts have been enhanced through the Gort Streetscape Scheme, giving the town a real lift.

More than 70 properties throughout Gort town centre have benefitted under the Gort Streetscape Scheme since its launch in 2024. The initiative is supported by the @DeptRCDG under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme, in partnership with @GalwayCoCo and the Gort Town Team.
