@eatsmokes @socalledcharlie questions people ask when they are trans but haven't quite figured it out yet. it's like a metaphor for being pre-hatched, basically.
English

@socalledcharlie This might be dumb, but what are “egg questions”? 😭😅

as somebody who can't not take the bear thing too literally, this is the only version of this discourse i will accept at face value
Maggie Koerth@maggiekb1
My father (68, white, straight, male): "Hey, can you explain this bear in the woods thing to me? I don't understand. Obviously, women would rather meet a random gay man in the woods. But why does he have to be a bear?"
English

@Cluffalo @sammimcsporran not really. being cisgender & heterosexual are common. they're also labels.
English

@sammimcsporran Everyone has a sense of norms. By labeling something like this you’re saying it’s deviating from the norm, or it wouldn’t need a label.

When we say the war is literally hurting all the hostages, and killing so many, it isn't a talking point. It's reality.
We care for Palestinian: so ceasefire now.
We care for the hostages: so ceasefire now.
We care for justice and liberation.

After his daughter Noa was kidnapped, Yaakov said:
"Let's make peace with our neighbors.
I want my daughter to come back.
They also have captives, there are also mothers crying there. We are two peoples with one Father, let's, for the sake of these things, please make a real peace."
What a person.

@sbearbergman After a while, my co-facilitator & I realised they were basically turning their cameras off, but like...mentally.
English

@sbearbergman Have you noticed this is way different since the pandemic? I haven't observed it in the context of performing, but when I first started facilitating in-person groups again in like '22-'23 I was so perplexed by the new difficulty I had telling whether people were engaged.

@britthates i can't decide if snot chemist or snot farmer is worse

@QueenMab87 @blaqueerflow it's also entirely possible to have thoughts *&* be judicious about where & when you share those thoughts, & for what purpose.
English

@blaqueerflow Of course Americans have thoughts. And should! I just wish there was more listening to those directly impacted especially Palestinians

@hyuumanatees like yeah, for millennials who spent every spare moment on msn messenger on the family desktop, a lot of us did acquire pretty decent typing skills without being taught, even if we don't necessarily have proper technique.
but if all your screens have been touchscreens? no way.
English

@hyuumanatees especially for people who are primarily accessing the internet/digital media via a phone or tablet screen, it's bonkers to assume this would give them any advantage with a keyboard.
