No matter how many IMAX-branded screens appear, the only truly authentic IMAX experience is in theaters purpose-built and operated to IMAX Corporation's original specifications. Many IMAX screens integrated into multiplexes don't fully match the size, projection system, or overall experience of those original IMAX theaters. Unfortunately, some multiplexes charge ticket prices comparable to those of genuine IMAX venues abroad, even when the experience isn't the same, leaving moviegoers feeling like they're paying premium prices for a watered-down version of IMAX.
