Democrats, Academics and other "race baiters" act as if America in the 1700's was the "epicenter" of the evil of slavery.  That lie is the real evil that totally ignores history.  The never told truth is that slaves in America were just a fraction (.03) of the worldwide slavery population at the time. Infinitely more slaves were in the Caribbean, South America, Asia, India and muslim countries in North Africa. And here's another fact that you will never find in the history books. Muslims captured and enslaved more white Europeans that were ever transported to America. In fact, 3 times as many white Europeans were enslaved by Muslims of the Barbary coast between 1530 and 1780 (up to 1.25 million) than were ever transported to America from Africa. And, of course they won't tell you that muslims today still practice and endorse slavery where there are an estimated 14.6 million slaves in muslim countries today. And they won't tell you that almost every country in the world (even including Native American Indians) since the beginning of recorded history has made slaves of their vanquished enemies. All of that begs the question as to why Democrats and educators ignore historical facts and hide the truth? Clearly they do it to indoctrinate our youth with their perverted and racist ideology to divide us and paint blacks as perpetual "victims" to keep them on the Democratic "Plantation". They have done it for so long that they have practically institutionalized "white guilt" and forever paint whites as oppressors with their twisted and inaccurate theories of "Intersectionality" and "CRT". The inculcation is so complete that you now have blacks and whites saying that ALL whites are "racist" and demanding "reparations" for blacks whose families were never enslaved, paid for by people that were never or never in their family's history slave owners. It's insane and the epitome and cornerstone of the marxist Democrats strategy of divisiveness and control through "victimization". How anyone buys into it is almost beyond comprehension but it is like "Stockholm syndrome" and demonstrates the power of 60 years of Democrats indoctrination of the populace.
