@rainydayjules My thought is tbh it’s probably bc the bear thought it couldn’t compete with succession in the drama categories (I haven’t watched the bear yet)

any of the aspects of The Bear you could use to argue it's a comedy could also be applied to Succession. and part of me wonders if it's just because Succession is about high-brow situations and The Bear is about low-brow ones

hottake: if The Bear is considered a comedy, then Succession should also be considered a comedy

i read a book today where the main character said "lol" out loud. the rest of the book was really good, but the "lol" brought my opinion down by a full star, probably.

@rainydayjules yeah also benedict breaking with the other guys to believe hero and support beatrice is kind of important lol. this really looks like they took the general personalities and the concept of some comedic deception and that's it

another thing: everyone always tries to leave out Hero and Claudio. that relationship and the contrast between the two couples is what makes the story so interesting
