44 years ago today, during the Falklands War, my husband stood on the front line defending our British flag in the South Atlantic. This is him on the left, captured in this moment after the battle, hands on his head, taken as a prisoner of war. He fought with courage alongside his comrades in the bitter cold and harsh conditions, doing what so many young British servicemen did, answering the call to protect British sovereignty. Until ordered to lay down arms by the Governor Rex Hunt! Today we remember the bravery of all who served in the Falklands. The ones who came home, the ones who didn’t, and the families who waited and worried. 🫡🇬🇧 To my husband - I’m so proud of the man you were then, and the man you are now. Any negative reaction to this inevitable given results regardless of circumstances. This shouldn't come as a shock to anyone - all indications have meant it's been more or less known albeit without a headline for a while. Already written a great deal on where my humble opinion stands and worthier opinions of those within the game - at SWFC and further afield. Beyond all that, HP staying on would be an obvious choice given the scale of what needs to be undertaken this summer - time already well against Owls and to throw in the recruitment of a new management team / complete new direction on top would be an act of self-harm. Start to next season obviously important for HP and club. Has absolute respect of those at the club as a person and a leader. As made clear throughout and with all this stuff, at this stage these are only intentions. Arise not in the door and so nothing formal possible. Still a road to be travelled on takeover. #SWFC🦉
